I'm watching "Celine Dion: Through The Eyes of The World". I have to admit I'm in awe of the woman's talent. Her voice, professionalism, bravado, and authenticity are pretty apparent. Yes, she is melodramatic, but isn't a lot of theatre? Any roles you think might suit her? I'm stumped, but there has to be something.

I'd love to see her take on Diana in N2N with that exceptional pop belt she has. It might be a total disaster, but it sure would be interesting.
Donna in Mamma Mia?
I'd actually like to see Ana Gasteyer AS Celine Dion as Diana in Next to Normal.
"I AM THE BEST MANIC DEPRESSIVE IN THE WORLD!"
SInce Ripley plays Diana fairly histrionic and over the top, I wonder what Ana or Celine could do with the part.
"WAT WAZ EEZ NAME? TELL ME IZ NAME? WHAT WAZ EZZ NAME? NAME? NAME?
I could actually see Ana in the role. Would be a nice change for her and she could certainly sing it.
If Celine came to Broadway, I'd have to reschedule a lot of things because I'd be at every single performance of that show.

Aldonza in MAN OF LA MANCHA
Fantine in LES MIZ

I think the Tony committee would hand out their first Best Replacement Tony if that were to happen. It sounds brilliant to me.

In all seriousness, The Narrator in Joseph/Dreamcoat.
Grizzabella in Cats
Donna in Mamma Mia
I can't see her playing a character outside of herself.
Oooh, maybe she could headline a Broadway revival of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.
That I'd like to see.

A few years back she might have made a good Maureen in ReNt.
I don't give a sh*t about her music, but I just find her so likable.
Maybe in 30 or 40 years she can play Solange in the 13th Broadway revival of Follies
Isn't there a video of her singing Memory? I seem to remember seeing the clip on youtube.

After watching that clip package I think she should play the title role in the upcoming Nutty Professor musical.
I think Donna in "Mamma Mia" is very good for her.

Twenty years ago she'd have made a good Carrie.
Javert.
A role like Donna that requires very little acting would be good for her.
Isn't she reviving her wildly popular Vegas show, though?
No it will be a completely new show.
I don't think Broadway is out of the question for Celine. She has stated many times that she prefers "residential" gigs, so if NYC ever offered her a long run. I am sure she would do it. Yes, she is doing Vegas for 3 years starting Spring 2011, but after that who knows.
Come to think of it, Celine needs to do an all-Broadway album, singing many of the songs you mentioned.
