Which Sondheim is the hardest to stage and sing?
Are there multiple Sondheims, all from different dimensions? Do they battle? Perhaps one has horns and one is water-based?

I would think Into the Woods, because of the challenging rhythms and overlaying parts.
I agree with pupscotch. Into the Woods is a very vocally challenging score. Specifically, "Moments in the Woods" and "On the Steps of the Palace" stand out as notably difficult.

Sunday in the Park With George is extremely difficult to learn.

It's called a "metonymy"
Into the Woods seems like it would be fairly easy, but it's nearly impossible to sing.
Sunday is also an extremely difficult score.

Has anyone performed Into The Woods as a child? I know there's a children's version, but I've never been able to imagine how elementary students could perform this very difficult score, even if somehow simplified.
It's Sondheim, I would say they all have various challenges.
ROAD SHOW is the most difficult, since as an actor you need to find a way to stay awake on stage while performing it.

For the orchestra, I'd say Sunday in the Park with George.
For the singers, Sweeney Todd or Pacific Overtures.
For the actors, Company (simply because every character needs to be very well-defined for the show to pack its emotional punch).

Okay, that got me good.
Having done it, I'd say Into the Woods.

The most challenging Sondheim is when he has you tied to a bottomless chair in the dungeon...allegedly.

Jordan, I've been periodically laughing whenever I think of that for hours.
