But it premired on Broadway in 2004.

And its broadway and beyond. When listing really important stuff, why care about commercial limits?

I have several names, one is Julian2. I am also The Opps Girl. But cross me, and I become Bitch Dooku!

It's time for these two titles to be thrown around again:

Grey Gardens
The Light in the Piazza

I've seen lots of other good shows and enjoyed myself, but none of them stand out as much as these two do.

I'm with Ronin--I like Grey gardens but I don't see how its subject matter makes it new or important in any major way

Do we really think that Grey Gardens will be remembered in 20 years as anything other than Christine Ebersole's big Tony win? I haven't seen the show, but I heard more about Ebersole's performance than I did about the actual show.

I would say Hairspray, Urinetown, Light in the Piazza, Spring Awakening, Last Five Years.

The Light in the Piazza. Certainly the most gorgeous score (and orchestrations!) in this decade so far.
