If we're talking about "most beautiful," and I'm only allowed to pick one, I'd definitely go with "How Could I Ever Know" from The Secret Garden. A little surprised that no one above me has mentioned it.
See what you've done, taz? Now 'Good Thing Going' has to go to Auschwitz. Live with that!
mizfit...good choice.
If I choose "Springtime for Hitler" can I keep both my babies?
Well in all honesty Robbie I think "Good Thing Going" is a prettier song than "Not A Day Goes By".
But "Not A Day" resonates with me on a personal level so it gets the edge.
"How Could I Ever Know" was on my admittedly rather long list.
If we really have to choose just one...and if I exclude "Begin the Beguine" because in my mind it's really a standard more than a song from a musical (in the sense that I don't know anything about the show it's from), I'd have to go with "Back to Before" from Ragtime.
Well played, doodle. Well played.

I was totally prepared to say Sunday, for the obvious reasons, but then Good Thing Going was mentioned. Damn.
Plus, although this may be more of a personal favorite, there's Not While I'm Around, which I've always found to be really beautiful.
All wonderful, but no one chose my personal favorite:
"Once Upon A Time," by Strouse/Adams, from ALL AMERICAN.

Move on.

There are so many, but I've always found the Night instrumental song from Les Miserables to be gorgeous. Honorable mentions would be Walking Among My Yesterdays, A Little Fall of Rain, Les Miz Finale, Another Winter in a Summer Town, and I Won't Send Roses.
