What's Next for Cynthia Erivo?

Sad to see COLOR PURPLE close, but now we can look forward to Cynthia's next project!

I'm hoping she'll star in Michael Arden's Broadway revival of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND. Or, will she headline TCP tour? Thoughts?

Hopefully a lot. I love her dearly. I hope she already has her next Broadway contract signed.

I know it won't happen, but I am praying for an Aida revival.

Her partner is playing Aladdin in London so I'd assume she'll be eager to come back home and spend time with loved ones.

Yeah, I'd assume she's going back to London for a while. But I'd hope she'll be back on Broadway soon.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I would pay Hamilton prices to see Erivo as Elphaba.

Speaking about Hamilton, if she does return to England I could see her as Angelica in the west end production

As much as I'd love for the whole country to be able to witness her magnificent performance, I really can't see her touring with the show.

I agree that she'd be an incredible Elphaba. Maybe in the West End production, and Broadway in the future? I would assume she'd want to return home for a while.

If she does tour with TCP she would probably do the LA stop or do what Idina did and go to the major markets.

I remember fairly recently she got into a conversation with some fans on Twitter about possible roles for her in the future, and to the suggestions along the lines of Elphaba or Angelica, she said that those roles were not "out of the box" enough for her to take them.

I would personally love to hear her take of "Burn" so I'm rooting for her to play Eliza Hamilton in the upcoming West End production. She has the same nuanced subtility which Phillipa Soo has and that'd be a decent way for her to be back in London for the time being. Don't know if she'd be even remotely interested in that, though.

How about leading player in the West End transfer of Pippin revival? And I'd also kill to see her play another Eliza in a My Fair Lady revival. There's always tons of for original musicals. She's been wanting to do a Serena (Williams) musical - even with her star power, that would be a tough if interesting sell.

On twitter, she has been teasing writing her own music and putting out an album so there's that.

I would also love to see her play Natasha in Great Comet, but don't see her replacing.

I can understand her not wanting to be a replacement in a long running musical like WICKED, but she would be fabulous opening HAMILTON in the West End. I bet at this juncture, though, she's most looking forward to taking a long and much needed vacation.

She did say (in her Singular Sensations at Charing Cross Theatre) that her dream role is Fanny Brice. Her Don't Rain On My Parade was stunning!

Except for the tour, which will launch in a year. She won't be in it, as has already been covered.
