With the announcement that Burn This will be delayed till next season what do you think will play at the Hudson. I would love to see Come From Away transfer to the Hudson but since it's the Ambassador Theatre group I doubt that will happen. What are your guesses?

Doesn't come from away already have the Gerald schoenfeld? Or are you saying you hope transfers there after its already open?

I think the OP means perhaps the move DEH by moving from the Belasco to the Music Box. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though!

Yes, COME FROM AWAY does have the Schoenfeld. Although the Hudson does seem like a nice fit for the show.

id put good money on one of Kevin McCollums two off broadway projects transferring there, either Sweet Charity or Ride The Cyclone would probably work well there.

I feel like a Sutton Foster lead revival of an American classic opening a brand new Broadway space....that sounds about right. I'd think they'd wanna start with a bang - not a gamble.

The idea of ride the cyclone transferring just gives me a warm glow in my heart, but my guess would be sweet charity. That just screams profits. I think ride the cyclone should wait for circle in the square to open.

I hate when people just assume "small show" = small theater. Doesn't always work. Not every show is suited for Circle in the Square. I'm impressed by with Fun Home did, but I don't think every show is that creative in their design to go from proscenium to in the round.

Sorry I didn't make that clear, I was hoping Come from Away would change theatres to the Hudson, because although the Schoenfeld is small, the Hudson would be the perfect theatre for this intimate show. I'm sure someone will snatch this Theatre up quick though.

SWEET CHARITY would do well here. Even if it's for just a limited 6 month run. But then we'll have Sutton, Midler, LuPone, Ebersole & Noblezada for the Tony race.

I don't think it'd make much sense for Sweet Charity to be staged on a thrust for such a short run if the goal at hand is to transfer to a theater with a proscenium stage.

Not every show at the circle in the square has to be in the round though. They can turn it into a proscenium set up.

Interesting how everyone is assuming that the upcoming off-Broadway revival of Sweet Charity is going to transfer to Broadway despite the fact that it hasn't even started performances yet.
Not only that, but when was the last time an actual off-Broadway revival had transferred to Broadway?

Well Jeffrey, with a commercial producer like Kevin McCollum attached, it's difficult to say there wouldn't be some sort of commercial future for the show. Of course if it receives bad reviews that's another thing, but I imagine because a commercial producer is attached to it, there's reason to assume a Broadway transfer is at least hoped for.
Well I'm not too sure if Encores is counted as Off Broadway, but Gypsy and Finian's Rainbow are two examples that come to mind. And not to forget Hair which originated at the Delacorte... plays are a whole other story

This wouldn't necessarily go to the Hudson, but could City Center's Sunday in the Park potentially transfer? Would that be a potential reason for J. Gyl's schedule changing?
