oh my goodness EVERYTHING is closing!?I heard that A Little Night Music,bloody bloody andrew jackson,ELF,Fela,In the heights,lombardi,next to normal,promises,promises,the scottsboro boys,time stands still,west side story,and women on the verge were all closing some time in januaray.will anything be left on broadway?We are planning on visiting in April ,and are excited about Catch me If you Can,Priscilla Queen of the Desert,Memphis(at this rate that might close before april also)and American idiot.It seems like all the good shows are saying good bye so soon.I know a few were around for sometime (N2N,ITH,WSS,)but I love theatre and it would suck to see all these theatres empty.
January is always a slaughter for closings, and this year seems particularly tough -- but shows have to close in order to bring in the new stuff.

I guess I'm not getting the joke here? Don't we need toursits to keep Broadway alive? As die-heart as I am, I simply can not do it on my own (Sung to the tune of Chicago).
But, yes, we do need the tourists, and certainly the only way to keep them coming in droves is to produce junk. Long live junk! You make a very salient point. I don't get the joke, either.

as i just posted on another post, i'm SO dissappointed at this! I'm going on january 17 after YEARS of even dreaming of going to see a lot of shows..and there will be NOTHING to see.. any recommendations will be welcome
