I think it's obvious she won't be performing ROSE'S TURN since Bernadette just did that 5 years ago. And how awkward would that be performing that with Bernadette most likely in the audience?
I think they should do 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' fully staged with Herbie and louise.
I pray to God they don't do a medley. '
What do you think?

Who is to say the show will be nominated...
I think Some People would be cool! But I would like either that or Everything's Coming Up Roses.
I think she could get away with "Rose's Turn."

'Everything's Coming Up Roses' was her stand out number at City Center. I would think that would be the best choice...
FlauntIt, We know what you think of this revival. But the chances of it not getting nominated are very slim. This isn't GREASE.

Midnight Radio-you think "Everything's Coming Up Roses" was the standout? I kinda thought it was "Rose's Turn."
Maybe they should throw everyone for a loop and showcase someone besides Mama Rose on the Tony's.
Don't get me wrong, Patti's pretty fierce in the role and all that jazz. However, it seems like Laura Benanti, Boyd Gaines, and Leigh Ann Larkin are adding as much to the show as she is.

Don't get me wrong, I though Patti performed every number wonderfully. But yes, I thought 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' was her stand out piece, you could just see her pure desperation. Also, it seems to be a more sung through piece for her and the small amount of dialogue prior to it sets up the number perfectly.

are you crazy theatrekid?? It's not called "Benanti Gypsy."
lol
True, true.
I was just trying out some ideas for the act.
I would love it if they gave Laura something to do.
Benanti would have something to do if they did 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' - granted it's not singing.
Even though "Rose's Turn" will probably be chosen (and that's the one I'd prefer), I think "Together Wherever We Go" would be great too. It would showcase all of the three leads' talents, not just Patti's.
I forgot about TOGETHER. That's not a bad idea. I'm really doubting they'll do 'Rose's Turn.' But maybe Laurents is nasty enough to have LuPone do it a slap in the face to Bernadette and Mendes?
They should just perform the dressing room scene, THAT was the stand-out at City Center. Of course that won't happen. She'll obviously perform "Rose's Turn" and I don't see anything awkward about Peters being in the audience, she got to do her production in '03, got to play the role she had been wanting to play since she was a little thing playing one of the Hollywood blondes, got a love letter from Brantley, was nominated for a Tony, and got an immediate standing ovation at the Tonys after "Rose's Turn." Now it is LuPone's turn to do the role, I doubt there is any awkwardness about it.
I like the idea of "Together Wherever We Go." If it were up to me, I'd have them do "You Gotta Get a Gimmick," that's the kind of upbeat and hilarious number that would make the tourists get tickets.

OMG yes, the dressing room scene.
"I SAID TURN IT OFF!!!"
I think on the list of numbers to preform, "You Gotta Get a Gimmick" is the last one.
I second "Together Wherever We Go"
Ljay, Laurents may have hated the way Mendes approached his show, but he has gone on to say that Peters was a fabulous Rose (Sondheim is also a fan of Peters' rose) and he is very good friends with Peters. He won't be trying to slap her in the face and please Sam Mendes is an Oscar-winning director, married to one of the hottest (not to mention talented) Hollywood actresses, you think he really minds what Laurents does or doesn't do at the Tonys?
As I said, I fail to see how this revival or LuPone performing at the Tonys would affect anyone involved with the '03 revival, unless their egos are so big that they thought GYPSY revivals would stop after them.
I think it'd be neat if Patti and Boyd did 'You'll Never Get Away From Me" - that was always a really fun number at City Center.
If not, I'd say 'Everything's Coming Up Roses'.
I third "Together Wherever We Go"
Nice way to showcase Benanti also.
A letter to the producers of GYPSY:
Please do TOGETHER. Yours is one of the first GYPSYs that points out how much of an ensemble piece the show is, and you need to broadcast that.
Either "Buenos Aires" or "Meadowlark". Her choice.

"Meadowlark" would be nice and unexpected.
Honestly, I'd like to see "Everything's Coming Up Roses" or "Together" over "Rose's Turn."
And if anyone thinks for a second it's not going to be a big Patti Belt Fest...I don't know how I was going to finish that statement.
