After the embarassing RAGS concert last week, we won't be seeing that show for awhile...
i was just thinking about these threads! :) they are always super fun if a bit overdone.
right now i'm going with:
Ragtime
Hair
& They're Playin' Our Song (with an African American Cast)

It wasn't on Broadway, but Bare: A Pop Opera needs to have another run. Preferably not limited.
And if they can get Michael Arden again, it will be on broadway in a matter of minutes.
And Guys And Dolls, because I have loved that show ever since I was about two and would kill to see it performed professionally. And I was just in it.
I'd love to see a well done production of Gigi. Today it could be much racier than the movie.

Why? The original film's discreet, witty, yet suggestive handling of the material is helluva lot more erotic and sophisticated than anything the low-rent boneheads on Broadway or Hollywood could come up with today. What do you expect Gigi to do--flash her pudenda?
Amelie Helie
Belleville, Paris
Gosh I like that word, whether it's singular or plural. I do feel the movie handled the subject matter discreetly and in a witty manner as you say. But since the story is about training a courtesan, I feel there is some room on this side of 1958 to make a new version more suggestive without being purulent.
"Side Show"
"Mack & Mabel" (maybe a transfer of the John Doyle London version?)
I'd love to see "Funny Girl" done again and I hope "Evita" makes a transfer.

THE WIZ! (Come on and transfer down to broadway)
I hope the wiz goes into the Broadhurst if it transfers.

Funny Girl!
I second that one, of course it'll be very difficult to find someone who could sing that score well.
I don't think so. I mean, no one will ever do it like Barbra, but other people could handle it.

I would've said South Pacific, but it looks like it's going to be revived in 2008!
Sunday in the Park With George (although it's supposed to be coming soon)
Pippin
Chess
If someone has suggested this on another thread, forgive me. But, considering how delusional she is and how she is currently living the part:
