I've never been, can anyone who has been to Awesome 80s Prom tell me if there's audience participation- it seems like it'd be a show that encourages singing/dancing along maybe?

No, it still happened at Studio 54. Chita had some sort of audience interaction during her song in Nine, but I can't remember exactly what she did.

Ave. Q - The Money Song?
I wonder what people have put in those hats. It took me a while to discover that (joke spoiler?) the Metrocard was a plant.

When I saw Chicago the first time, the actors did not break down the fourth wall. When I saw it the second time, I was surprised that the actors did break down the fourth wall and started talking directly to the audience to get their responses.
- The fourth wall has been broken at ALL the Chicago performances I've seen. I'm suprised it wasn't the first time you saw the show.
And at the end the audience becomes the audience for Roxie and Velma's act, and the two throw the roses at the audience. So that is audience participation to me.

Posted: 11/5/06 at 2:43pmWhen I saw Spamalot with the original cast, the entire audience was whistling along to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" in the beginning of Act Two. (I also was lip synching along with the well known lines from the movie, which is probably not a surprise.)

I thought of that after my post.
Seussical - Good one, I've seen it twice and completely forgot about that.

Has anyone mentioned CATS - Rum Tum Tugger dances with a woman from the audience and sits on her lap. This resulted in a lawsuit in the mid 1990's.
