I am going to NYC in June and had planned on seeing Wicked, but the tix fell thru
~ So, my 3 other choices are Aida, Wonderful Town, or Bombay Dreams.
Which would you choose?
Wonderful Town.
Aida
Assassins or Avenue Q. Or, if you've never seen it Aida.
Aida. It's closing soon, so it would be a great time to see it now!
Of the shows that you mentioned, I'd see Wonderful Town
Try to see:
Avenue Q
Boy from Oz (just for Hugh's performance)
Streetcar (should be open by then)
Assassins
The Normal Heart
Th Frogs (scheduled to start previews on June 17)
of the ones you chose, Wonderful Town.
Avenue Q is great as well :)
Wonderful Town, Donna and Jennifer are wonderful!!

Bombay Dreams...Shakalaka Baby
Aida - Deborah Cox is good, and Will Chase is great. If you're going in late June, you'll get to see the original, Adam Pascal, who's even better.

I would recommend BOMBAY DREAMS, highly...it is an amaazing show and you get alot for your money. Aida is also good, but Bomay Dreams is not to be missed
Sucks that those are your three choices.
Wonderful Town and then try to see Avenue Q if you are over 16.

Or their amazing understudy!
Honestly, Wonderful Town didn't do anything for me. I think I'm the only one.
I would go for Aida.

Thnx for the gr8 ideas. This is an education trip to NYC with 7 of my students (ages 13 - 15), so I have to take them to age appropriate things. If I was going alone, I would be able to see some other titles.
None of them have to been to NYC before, so I wanted to give them 3 different types of shows. A traditional book show with gr8 dancing(Millie), a splashy Spectacle(Aida?), and something new(Hairspray). Wicked would have been perfect for 2 of those(spectacle and something new)
I am very torn on Wonderful Town Vs. Aida.
What do you guys think of Caroline or Change for them or even Raisin in the Sun? Too mature? I think seeing those gr8 actors would an amazing thing for them. A Play would be nice. They are musical theatre students, but I think they would enjoy a good play.
Thnx again.
i love aida and wonderful town. you should go see aida before it closes.
For 13-15 I would say Wonderful Town. It is a family show.
Avenue Q might be a bit racy for them and Caroline is a family show but it is very sophisticated not sure about it for that age group.
I would take them to Wonderful Town. I would also suggest Millie since it is closing June 20th.
I have never seen this cast but the show is so much fun.
It is perfect for 13-15 year olds.

I haven't seen Wonderful Town, but Aida is perfect for that age range. It's got a rock/pop score, cool sets/costumes/characters and cute guys. :) Wicked would have been amazing though. Why did your tickets fall through?
Also, Raisin in the Sun would probably be a bit too heavy for that age. Plus it's not really a spectacle piece, and I personally think would be more effective and understandable if it was studied at school first. (We had to do that when I was in high school.) Otherwise, aside from P. Diddy, it might seem kind of dry.
