justabroadwaybaby, thanks for the compliment! i just added something new to my collection today- signed picture of Felica P Fields with a note :) that made me happy
but yeah, include whatever you want! i usually include a picture, and it depends on the person, but they might sign your picture, or sign a picture of theirs, or 2 pictures (yours and theirs). i just send one to make it a bit easier on them, and especially if they are a bigger-name performer, like the one i got from Felicia Fields was a picture i sent
but yeah, happy sending!

I just don't wan tto pour my heart and soul into a letter and then, not get a response. But, I'll try it once i have a lot of free time :)

Besides fanmail.biz what other urls are there with addresses?

I wrote to Julie Andrews today. I can't wait for that.

Oh! If you email Sara Ramirez or Peter Gallagher they do photo requests that way. Peters isn't personalized..but Sara's is. That's really nice of them.

I wrote to Bernadette but you need to make a $10 donation first to her favorite charity.

I just got a signed headshot, a signed playbill, and a letter from Barrett Foa. I did not even ask for a playbill. I love this man - he is my hero! :)

I never know what to say in letters. I've actually only ever written one "fan letter" per se, and it was really, really awkward. I only have two other signed headshots, though; one I had and got signed in person and one I asked for in person but recieved via mail.

I really want to write to Raul Esparza and ask for a signed headshot because his new ones are gorgeous, but what in hell am I supposed to say to him? That's rhetorical; I mean, I know what I could say. I just feel weird.

luvtheEmcee - Yeah I felt weird when I started writing. Just speak from your heart. They get lots of fanmail so they would not think you're weird, and it's so fun getting something back in the mail! Just be honest..well to a certain extent. Haha.

I just got a signed promo picture and note from Beth Leavel that definitely includes the phrase "The Tony says hi back." I love this woman.

Mrs. Felciano-
I heard back from Barrett within 3 weeks, which was quite impressive considering that some people on this thread did not hear from him for several months. I think this is the best time to send something to him becuase he is sending them right back out. He was so sweet in the letter, and he really rocks my world!

mrs felciano- I sent a letter and SASE to Barrett over a year ago back in Q. About 1 month ago I recieved stuff back.

I got back (another) signed headshot from Mano today. The note on the headshot said...

To Carole Ann -- We love the cartoons! Brilliant! Love, Mano Felciano

I sent him two cartoons; one of the characters from Sweeney, with Elisabeth (you'll know who I mean if you know his song Faux Pas) so Toby has a love life, and one of the cast doing the time warp. I know. I'm crazy.

just got something from BETH LEAVEL today!!! she sent a signed picture of her as the Drowsy Chaperone, a note, and a picture of the playbill

I got a signed headshot from Sara Gettelfinger a few days ago!

Still haven't gotten anything from Sweeney though, do you think they'd still send me a playbill? I sent it like 3 days before it closed so I don't have a clue if they even got it..

i asked her if she could possibly sign a picture or headshot...that's all
and i sent it about 3-4 weeks ago...closer to 3 or so

i could post a picture of what she sent me later!

I'm like obbsessed with fanmail. I need to stop posting in this topic before you all think I'm a stalker.

I look forward to the mail everyday, and am so sad if I don't get anything.

I also get excited if they didn't cancel the stamp so I can reuse it.

So not only am I obbsessed and crazy, but I'm cheap too :)
