it also may just take awhile to get to them
i live in SC, and it usually takes 3-4 days or less to get to NYC...it took 3 weeks for Donna Champlin to get my letter!
yeah
:)
things do happen
bwayondabrain-
I live in SC too!
I'm sure this isn't exactly what you guys are looking for since there is no autograph involved but . . . I work for a non-profit therapeutic riding center for childre with special needs. Every year around this time we have a dinner/dance/auction to raise money for the kids. This year we wrote to every broadway show and several off broadway. Only heard back from two and only one (Alter Boyz) said that they could donate tickets. At my boss's request I wrote letters to several performers I had seen. I complimented them on their work and commented on how it affected me personally, then went on to talk about the program. I specifically said that I didn't want them to personally donate anything, but asked if they could bring the auction to the attention of those who could help. Today we got a letter from POTO (I had written to Howard McGillin) and they said they were happy to donate two tickets :)
Now I'm off to write Mr. McGillin a thank you letter! :)

I got a headshot from Tina Maddigan! She is such a sweetheart! She wrote:
"To [My name] Always follow your dreams.
Thanks for your very sweet note.
Lots of Love
Tina Maddigan XO"

How long does it usually take Alex Gemignani and Mark Jacoby to respond? 8/10 Sweeney, and these are the only two I'm awaiting. Hand delivered letter and SASE to them...if that matters.

I got back a card and a signed headshot from John Lloyd Young today. The card was really neat, and he wrote a very sweet note inside it.

Has anyone written to any of The History Boys and got replies?

yup
wrote to the whole cast for my sister, and they just sent back a playbill signed by all of them, and my sister got it yesterday
:)
took about 2 weeks

That is so awesome! :)
About Sherie Rene Scott, I wrote her and I got a response. She and Norbert signed and personalized my L5Y CD insert. :) It took her about 3 months to get it back to me. So hopefully those of you who have written will hear from her.
JLY is not only exceptionally sweet, but he is also prompt with his replies.

Did you send the History boys playbill? Or did they send one you? I'm kind of nervous to send mine because it's a color playbill so it's not like I can just pick one up!
I sent a SASE to Meryl Streep to the Delacorte Theater two weeks ago with a Mother Courage Playbill inside and a letter and haven't recived anything. I really hope the playbill gets sent back because its the only one I have!

Actually, since the show has closed, it is a long amount of time. Chances are you won't get anything back, but one can never give up hope.

they included the HISTORY BOYS playbill
it was incredibly nice of them!
and yes, it was a VERY short amount of time
:)
and that's nice about Celia sending all the stuff out now...that's really sweet

30/90 Playout -- It took about two weeks for Marc Jacoby and Alex to reply. My guess is if you haven't already gotten something from them..you probably won't..since the show is now closed. Try writing Alex again when he is in Les Mis!
Also..has anyone written to Joanna Gleason after she left DRS? There is an address for her agency on fanmail.biz and I was just wondering if anyone has written to her through that address! There is no feedback on the website. Thanks!

GYPSY, I belong to an autograph collector site (not fanmail.biz) and nobody has ever received something back from Meryl through the mail. I also sent to her at the Delacorte and I am hoping to get a response too, but I find it highly unlikely. Hopefully we'll at least get return to senders.

bwayondabrain- WOW, I am SO jealous of your collection.
I live in the city, so does anyone find it weird if I send a letter?
Plus, what items would I include?
Please don't say "anything" becuase they all sign different kinds of stuff (is it just me or did someone ask someone on broadway to sign their bra?)
What did YOU specifically use? i know, like, a playbill, or ask them for a picture, or merch from the show or something, but WHAT ELSE?
That is, if I EVER send one of these letters!
Thanks!

No, not weird. You'd send a self addressed stamped envelope and a Playbill, if that's what you want signed. If you want a head shot, ask for it in the letter.
