Yea, it's definitley happened before...I remember someone posting it before.
Although, I don't think they do it on purpose.

Yea, I think you're right. I'm sure it was a mistake or someone's idea of a joke.

well, that is awesome LaChanze gets back
maybe ill include a picture- that way the only place she could stick the gum would be on the picture itself, and im sure she wouldnt do that...
:P
I wrote to Beth Leavel a couple of weeks ago, and she sent me a small 3 x 5 note card with the Drowsy Chaperone logo on it, signed -- it looked like the cover of the playbill. I'm sure she would have sent more, but I sent a small envelope. But she responed in less than a month.
Hope that helps!!
Thanks! Im still waiting for Beth to respond to me.
Since I know someone asked (sorry, don't remember who!), it took me 3 weeks to get something from Tina Maddigan. (Got it today )

oh, and has anyone gotten anything back from Carolee Carmello?
It was I who got a signed headshot and Playbill from Alan Cumming and the Playbill had three wads of gum in it.
I agree that they must collect the discarded Playbills off of the floor for actors to sign. Mine was all lumpy and I cant imagine that Alan wouldn't feel that as she was signing. It's totally disgusting, but I dont want to be ungrateful. The headshot was divine, so I'm not complaining.

I got mail from Annaleigh Ashford from the Wicked tour today, she sent a little note too.
I sent a couple things to Sweeney and DRS a few days before they closed, there is hope they'll write back, right?
I've been waiting on Sherie for a couple months now, too :/
And I know Amy Spanger is pretty good about writing back, but does Felicia Finley usually respond if you send a SASE? I think I'm gonna write to them soon. Or I'll just send one to the whole cast and request a playbill, maybe.

yeah, Felica got back when i sent an SASE, but i included a picture
i wish i knew Amy sent headshots- my picture she signed is sucky and small...oh well, its the sig that counts
:)
ive also thought of asking or sending a playbill to the cast- theres so many of them i want to write to, so it just might be easier
:P
Beth Leavel wrote back to me today! She sent a 4x6 signed pic of her as The Chaperone.

oh, that is awesome! i hope i get something from Beth! :)
but my sister just got a cast signed playbill from THE HISTORY BOYS so that is very cool
:)
It took Beth a month. I wrote to Sutton Foster the same time as Beth. I hope to get something from her soon!
Sutton takes a while. I wrote to her in Little Women and it took about 3 months to get a signed playbill and headshot back.

oh, well i sent beths like a week or 2 ago, so i got time

I wrote to Sutton when she was in Little Women and still have nothing.
I've given up hope.
If I remember correctly I wrote her as soon as previews started, in Dec and received her reply around Feb/March. I guess it may of taken longer b/c it was previews and she was still busy rehearsing.

yeah, i wrote her end of December/beginning of January, and got something from her in February
good luck, sweetq! sorry you havent gotten anything yet!
and for some of these people, you might not get stuff back from (obviously). my point is, though, that the NY postal service is so busy with so many letters, some letters may get lost along the way, and might not reach some people. so yeah, they aren't mean, but just didnt get your letter!
:)
Very rarely do things get "lost in the mail" its just a classic excuse. Think about it, where could your letter go? It could be delivered to the wrong address, but in that case the person who received it in error generaly mails it back. Im not saying things dont disappear but chances are if a letter is sent it arrives at its destination. And if you address something wrongly it will come back to you. The United States Postal Service does not hoard your mail.

good point, mancape

never thought of that...

It does happen though. Nothing/nobody is perfect- not even the mail system.
A few years ago, my aunt sent me a birthday card. I never recieved it.
Also, a couple years ago, my mom sent me something. She was mad that I didn't get it but after like a month, we forgot about it. Well, over a year later (Yes, 12 months!) I recieved it in the mail.
Crazy things do happen.
Im not saying it never happens. But considering the billions of letters the USPS deals with very rarely do things get lost. In the case of you letter it probably fell behind something and they never noticed it. I once had a case were I sent a letter to someone in a office, and I put the wrong office number and I got the letter back 8 months later. I had assumed they received the letter and I got it back RTS with a postmark from 8 months earlier. It does happen, but in most cases the person received what ever you mailed them.
