Today I got mail from Allison Janney. Only took 4 days!
how did she get your email? Were you just like "my email is..." or did she ask for it?

Allison? I sent a flyer to the theater to be signed.
Does anyone have an address for the Rent tour?
Does anyone know where I could send a playbill of In the Heights for Karen Olivo to sign? Would I just send it to the Palace Theatre?
^ Yes, send it to Karen c/o the Palace Theatre Stage Door. :)

For those of you who recieved a cast signed playbill from Billy Elliot, how long did it take?
Who did you address it to? The Stage Manager?

It took about 4 months, but it is signed by every cast member so the wait was worth it.
Thanks Rudy2 :)
Has anyone had anything back from both Kevin Kern & Vicki Noon? I wrote to them a few months ago and haven't heard back since. Thanks!

I got a playbill signed by the entire cast of The Norman Conquests - and it only took 5 days!

signed Pirates of the Caribbean photo that I sent to Geoffrey Rush, signed Ursula photo that I sent of Faith Prince, signed program from 9 to 5 - all took about a week. This has been a very good season. Only no show so far was the cast of Guys and Dolls, and maybe that will eventually show up.
How do they feel about past shows? Like, say I were to write "Actress" about how much seeing her in "Show she was in but isnt in now" effected me. Is that ok? I've never sent in anything before.

Who is the actress? Knowing may a little helpful.
I'm wanting to write Carol Shelly about when I saw her in wicked, so yeah.
^ I would imagine she would be very flattered and happy to read what you had to say, especially since that role was such a thankless, cartoonish one that allowed her little room to act. I'm sure she'll be very pleased. Kudos to you for taking the time to make a solid actress feel appreciated. Just make sure you acknowledge her current role - if you haven't seen the show, tell her you are looking forward to seeing her in it.

Yes, I think that she would like that letter. But I agree with the above, acknowledge her current role. I met her before, and she seems very sweet, so I think you should be ok writing to her about that role.
Ok, Thank you all :) I've just started writing people and it's somewhat new to me. I'm writing to the tourr cast of RENT because I saw them in January. I'm not expecting anything back because it's Adam and Anthony and i'm sure they get so much fan stuff from RENTHEADS it's probably unbearable. lol. Any tips on writing?

You can request a cast signed playbill from RENT. I got a cast signed playbill when Adam and Anthony on Broadway in 2007. I also wrote to Anthony personally and he signed 2 fliers for me, so you can write to Adam and Anthony separately.
Also if you want an autograph make sure to include something to be signed and add a SASE.
As far as the actual letter...I wouldn't write more than a page. I usually just tell them that I am a big fan and that I appreciate there work and ask if they could sign (whatever I enclosed).
Would asking for a signed picture be too much? I was planning on writing Adam, Anthony, Lexi, Nicolette, and Justin. I WAS going to write Gwen (she's my favorite) but she apparently left the tour recently.

No, I don't think a photo is too much, but I would limit it to 1 photo per person. I have been collecting autographs for a while and I have many signed photos. I just provide the photos which betters your chances of getting something back and it is easier for the performer.
Recently got signed Playbills from:
God of Carnage
Exit the King
Impressionism
Blithe Spirit
33 Variations
9 to 5
I sent a letter and envelopes to Alice Ripley asking for a signed playbill and haven't heard anything back yet

^ How long has it been? You can try again. Did you address it to Alice or the stage manager?
What if I cant provide the picture? I know some people give their own, my friends got me a signed picture from Marcie Dodd and Alli Mauzey before and she said she didnt send any in.
