What the hell is 'tasking'? I think you mean 'taxing'. And I think the role is difficult on a number of levels (the book scenes are tough-it's an emotional roller coaster of a role).
I don't think the question is whether there are harder roles (I'm a little sick of people using that to degrade someone's performance). How about just looking at this particular portrayal of it rather than asking if it's 'the hardest role'. That's not the right measurement of the quality of a performance, IMO.

Let's see...95 minutes straight, speaking nearly all of the dialogue and singing lead on 10 out of 11 songs. All in heels quite a bit higher than anything typically worn by stage performers.
Yeah, that sounds like a walk in the park. SMH in disbelief.

Posted: 8/17/14 at 4:43pmSorry you don't like my opinion. But's that's just what it is- MY opinion. One person's art is another's Trash. I have ADHD, so a show like this is a walk in the park. And those heels are nothing.

BUT, that is me. I am not you, so my view on something is going to be different from yours. I don't think it looked like that demanding a role, that is all. I did not get the emotional rollercoaster and there was time between each song to recover with all the dialogue between- Which was mainly just NPH standing there (Kinda like Stand-up).
I don't get why people seem to be soo bothered by my opinion- i mean, so i feel that way- So what. What's it to you.

Posted: 8/17/14 at 5:22pmNo offense Daryl, but I HIGHLY doubt you have the training, stamina and talent to perform Hedwig 7 times a week. ADHD or not. It's definitely not a "walk in the park". Even for the most talented performer.

I agree ShakinBacon, that's a tremendously draining and tiring role, he pretty much carries the entire show and he knows most people bought a ticket to see him. Talk about pressure. Until you can do all that Darreyl and know what it's like, you should probably stop assuming things.

Posted: 8/17/14 at 5:33pm^ Have either of you done it? You are presuming it IS a hard role, but to your line of thinking- if you haven't done it- How can you assume it's a hard role to do?

Posted: 8/17/14 at 5:37pmHow can you assume Priscilla is a hard role if you have never done it? Your logic is flawed in this argument.
#36Who's going to NPH's final performance in HEDWIG tonight?
Posted: 8/17/14 at 5:42pmYou were pointing out how since i haven't done it, how would i know. i was pointing out that you were doing the same as i was- I never said i did not assume, but that you were also assuming. You are the one that made the claim about having to do it to know it's hard, Not me.

I think there is ample, first-hand evidence proving that it is a very exhausting role -- if from no one else than from those who have played the role. Including NPH, and JCM who created the role, as well as others.
If you're going to assert that it is NOT a draining part to play seven or eight times per week, or that it doesn't "look" like a part that would be tiring, you either need to offer better evidence of your presumption or the ridicule you're receiving here is richly deserved.

From them, it probably was- i never said it wasen't a hard role for them to do. I said it did not look like a hard role- That is all- that it did not LOOK like a hard role-Period. My opinion is not going to change.
But i am done with this back and forth, Feel free to continue but don't expect a response from me. I have a right to my opinion, just as you do.

Can you provide a definition for the word "wasn't?" Or perhaps you can tell us what two words it is a contraction of.

Yes. 100%. You are absolutely entitled to your ill-informed, unsupported and downright silly opinion of how difficult the role "looks" to be. No one is trying to deny you the right to sound dumb. We just want to be sure you recognize how dumb you sound and why.

"I said it did not look like a hard role"
So - dancing, singing, and acting the entire night in high platform shoes, including jumping off cars, balancing on the two narrow arm rests of a theater seat, while dancing, swaying and singing while balancing, does not look hard to you.
um, opinion oshminion, you're ridiculous. Can't take you seriously.

The show just ended. Waiting for to NPH to leave the theater. One word - Electric! JCM and David Burtka were 3 rows behind me. 6th row is VIP
The audience gave JCM 2 standing ovations! One before the show - another at the end. Audience also cheered for NPH/David kiss during Sugar Daddy. Nothing extra at the end of the show except extra bows and tears, and seeing JCM was awesome!
