Who's seeing THREE DAYS OF RAIN tomorrow?

I'll be seeing it in a few weeks and am wondering if anyone here has tickets to the first preview.

Be sure to post a review.

I'm seeing it tomorrow night, first night of preview. I have a 4th row ticket. Bought it when they first went on sale. Paid full price, but figured it's worth it. Heck, now the ticket is going for $900. But, I want to see the show. I'll post tomorrow when I get home.
Love me some Julia, and Paul, and Bradley.

I'm going tomorrow as well, but how did you get fourth row. I called the minute they went on sale and they were only selling row m or mezz seats. I feel cheated.

There will probably be seats. You have to look for me though if you come. I'll probably be the only 15 year old boy there.

I have tickets for April 13 - I wanted to give Julia some time to warm up to the stage before I see her, since it will probably only be once.

I'm such a huge Julia fan. I'm contemplating if I should sacrifice seeing either Drowsy Chaperone or Threepenny to see it. I found a few mezzanine seats. Decisions, decisions....

Totally agree with you on this, Munk...which is why my friend and I are seeing it on April 15th.

I'm going next week. I'm afraid Roberts will make me wait for her substitution work to take effect for every line -- making for a long and univolved evening.

I have front row center for saturday night. i'm concerned about her voice and i think i'd probably get a better sense of it further out -- but i can't look a gift horse in the mouth...ooops--well i guess i can, if i'm in the first row.

who knew i was such a julia roberts fan....but that scene in PRETTY WOMAN where they won't let her shop--that is so sad.

re: Who's seeing THREE DAYS OF RAIN tomorrow?

I ordered my ticket the day after they went on sale. At first the only thing that came up were mezzanine seats, then I put in single seat and got 4th row side. Partial view but full price. I dont' care. I think it's going to be the event of the season. Paul Rudd and Bradely Cooper are added draws too. I wanted to be there the first night.
45th street is TV and movie land these days. Julie Roberts, David Schwimmer, Jeremy Sisto, Ali McGraw, Ralph Feinnes.
Now it's time for Broadway to go Hollywood.
Exciting though nonetheless.

Just back from the show. Good, not great, but that's the play's fault not the actors. All three were very good, though Bradley Cooper stole the first act as his character is very alive and confident.
Second act Julia really got to shine. Several flashes of that smile and laugh but they worked for the character and weren't just throw ins.
Two minor flubs. Bradley's fly was half open for his first few minutes onstage, but he finally realized it and zipped up. Funny.
Second act Paul Rudd dropped a plastic tomato and it rolled onto the stage prompting Julia to lose it for a second and laugh, which of course made the audience laugh.
She was a bit nervous at first but got into it and by the second act was a natural. She's a very good actor and reactor and sitting in the second row I could really watch her eyes and facial expressions, when she wasn't hidden by the art table. Partial view means blocked by furniture, though they made up for it by playing the beginning of the second act right in front of my section. Luckily the wind machines blow the cigarette smoke right upstage.
Other folks on here can review better then I can. I liked it, didn't love it. Julia proves she can do both stage and screen, but I would have liked to have seen a better first vehicle for her.
I could see where Patricia Clarkson probably stole the show when she did it in 1997. The play remarks that she was older and kind of an old maid when she marries her husband, but that doesn't jibe with the second act. Not sure if that's direction or not.
They got a standing ovation but it was a bit forced. It's the play, not the actors again though.
Julia Paul and Bradley all do a very good job. Bradley has the showier part, but Paul does manage very well with his scenes.
The rain was interesting but almost distracting. They must have used the idea from the musical stage version of "Singing in the Rain". I had wondered why the usher told me he hoped I had my umbrella, and then the edge of the stage is grated.
There were some empty seats surprisingly enough. The one right next to me stayed empty. One guy lucked out and sat front row center coz he heard they weren't seating anyone after the show started until intermission. There were also a couple of seats behind me and a few rows up on the side. This is to the right of the stage facing it. Row B.
It will have a good run but the reviews might be mixed, though again I don't fault the actors.
Just the playwright.

re: Who's seeing THREE DAYS OF RAIN tomorrow?

Just got back from the show also and agree with most of what you said. Julia Roberts absolutely lit up the stage tonight and proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that she has what it takes to be a great stage actress as well as one of our finest film stars.

I love this play, also. I've known it for a while and I really don't find much fault in it at all. So to me it was a pretty perfect evening at the theatre. For someone who sees everything, I honestly could not have asked for more. As for the rain, I was sitting mid orch. so it wasn't as distracting as I imagine it might have been that close up. It was very soothing from back there, actually. :)

Oh, and the reason that everyone laughed so hard at the apple was because Paul Rudd called her Julia right after it dropped.

And the smile she reacted with was priceless.
