Whoopi recommends 'A Strange Loop'

This morning on 'The View', Whoopi Goldberg said she was able to catch two shows on Broadway this weekend. One was 'American Buffalo' ('Laurence Fishburne and Darren Criss were fabulous' and the other was 'A Strange Loop' - which she really enjoyed. She did warn that it's not your usual show, because it's a different show that will annoy you - but encouraged everyone to go and see this show.

The more I listen to the score after seeing the show in the final week of previews the more certain I become that it’s a masterpiece.

How would you classify the score? Classic? Pop? Rock? I ask this because the music in WICKED caused my physical pain--to the point where tears were flowing.

Maybe she saw it a second time this weekend? She may not have understood it the first time, so she saw it a second? She did warn viewers it was thought provoking and annoying.


I did get the impression she didn’t like American Buffalo. She only pointed out the three stars were fabulous but nothing about the play itself.

Yes he has. He thought it was "amazing!"



BTW: Dan is even better-looking in person. I met him on the street between performances of DOLLY! on a matinee day.

For what it's worth, I absolutely can't stand the Wicked score, and quite like the ASL one. I wouldn't say they're very similar at all.
