It seems to be selling well? Sorry if this was answered before
Probably Cumming is leaving to return to The Good Wife. No Alan & no show
Add to that he is probably tired of playing the role after all this time.

I'll say -- he practically slept-walk through every single public cast appearance I've seen him do for this show.
They are closing the show instead of recasting him which just seems so damn strange, considering all the work they put into renovating the theater back into what it was before.
No one wants to replace him, the Roundabout says. More like they didn't bother to ask.

He absolutely didn't sleep walk through the actual shows, though!
Or Darren Criss. He's apparently right for these kinds of roles now.
I guess.

No, he's becoming a father, you insipid little twit.

Are you serious that he is becoming a father? Where did you hear that?
^Uhhh...
I have no idea if he's going to be a father. But he's a man, so he wouldn't be a mother as that idiot Nicole seems to think.
I assume it was a joke- Calling yourself Mama is something lots of gay guy refer to themselves as. Not just as a pet name, but i know Gay guys who have become fathers jokingly say "I'm gonna be a Mama". I doubt Nicole was saying he was a girl.
they shoulda got Joel Grey to do it :)

I mis-worded my own comment. I'm not ignorant like Nicole109 and I obviously know he's a man and would be a father, but what I was asking was if he was actually having a baby. Obviously not. Thanks for sparking a ridiculous and false discussion about whether Cumming is becoming a father.
Joel is a little long in the tooth for it.
You know who I wanted to see next? Don't laugh- Bill Hader.
But can be Bill sing? That would be neat casting.
I do not know they haven't cast a new person.

I'm sorry for not taking the joke. When you are reading text you can't really understand the semantics of how someone says something and I like Alan Cumming and was happy that he was becoming a father. If that happens it remains to be seen but either way I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Much respect, x.
It was considered a "limited engagement", and Alan Cumming's contract with the show will be up in March. Roundabout Theatre Company I'm sure has plans for the next show they'll put on at Studio 54. Making Cabaret a long-term show would prevent them from putting on other productions at Studio 54. If Cabaret was an independently produced show with no ties to a non-profit theatre company, it would go on as long as tickets are still selling. However, being that it is a Roundabout Theatre Company production, I understand why they've decided to end the engagement.

If they get those numbers with Sienna Miller, they might change their minds.
