and if she does get nominated and win will she actually attend and give a speech or pull what she did at the Oscars and not show up?
She is a fierce actress and has never won a Tony Award despite several nominations....if she won she would have the Triple Crown of Acting (Oscar-Emmy-Tony)
Who else is going to potentially win? It's such a treat to have her back on Broadway but I don't wan't it to feel like they are just giving her an award just to do it.

Glenda Jackson is very much the frontrunner for Best Actress in a Play this year. There really isn't any competition.

If she won the Tony she'd heartily deserve it. Her performance in Three Tall Women was electrifying.

The real question is whether she is going to win the Drama League and/or Drama Desk over the superior performance of Billie Piper. Nothing at all against Jackson - she was wonderful! But I don't think she even comes close to Piper in this particular case.

uh....Does the Pope $hit in the woods?
uh...Is the Bear Catholic?
We saw TTW on Saturday and I'm still amazed and so thankful I was able to see not only Jackson's performance, but also, Metcalf and Pill left me mesmerized; and lastly, that stunningly striking and beautiful set design and stage!!

I think that if she is nominated, and then more people vote for her than any of the other nominees, she should win...

She will absolutely win the Tony. She is incredible, and this performance is not to be missed. The whole production is flawless

Jackson is winning without any competition at all. Rashad and Ridloff are giving good performances in just-okay plays. The fourth spot will be a filler nominee from a closed production. Had Metcalf and Denise Gough been placed in Lead, she would have at least prevailed against some worthy contenders.
Funny how last year the category had five win-worthy performances, and at least another 3-5 worthy contenders [i.e. Allison Janney, Mary-Louise Parker, Janet McTeer] didn’t even get a nomination.
Imagine if Billie Piper in “Yerma” had been on Broadway. A Jackson/Piper tossup would have made this race as exciting as Metcalf/Linney in 2017 and Lange/Williams/Nyong’o in 2016.

They should just give it to her now. No chance she loses.

Yeah, this category is not one of suspense. Glenda is winning. There is no viable alternative. She didn't bother to show up at the Oscars either time she won, but something tells me at this point in her career, she'll be attending the Tony Awards. Although, If she never cared about awards before, why would today be any different?

She will definitely attend if nominated. She's already in New York and she attended all the London theatre awards for King Lear last year. I think the Oscars and Emmys back in the 1970s were a different story as she probably wasn't expecting to win for either of her Oscars and she probably didn't want to make the trek from the UK to L.A. to attend those at the time for scheduling reasons.

Jackson winning is the closest thing to a lock we've got at this point.

Her failure to attend the Oscars was because she had no interest in them, not for any other reason. She took no part in submitting her name for consideration, did not campaign, and was against the whole nature of competitive performance. She couldn't care less about them, and denies having "won" them, because that implies she did something to try to get them.
