Why hasn't this been revived? Is there a rights issue?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
I would love to see revivals of The Wiz, Seesaw, Mame and how about a new production of Hello Dolly starring (don't laugh) Queen Latifah? Whenever I see her I think about seeing Pearl Bailey as Dolly-my first Bway show- back in 1969 when I was just a kid.
Oh, one more thing: How about a first time Bway production of Yeston & Kopit's Phantom? If that's not possible why not a televised PBS Great Performances production? Updated On: 11/18/10 at 01:44 PM
Here's another one: Pippin. Not the revamped version that was done at Paper Mill Playhouse(which was AWFUL-IMOHP) a few years ago but- a recreation of the original including the Bob Fosse staging and choreography.
AND how about another staging of Crazy for You-that wonderful Gershwin musical?
I have a strange feeling that the Kennedy Center production of FOLLIES may be just start studded and starry enough to garner a look to see if it would be worth bringing to the braodway stage.
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
