What performance do you wish was recorded for CD? It could be a replacement performer or understudy. It could be a show that never got a cast recording. It could be an Encores production.
Mine is the Chess concert with Julia Murney and Sutton Foster, instead of Idina Menzel and Kerry Ellis.

A Bernadette Peters/Elaine Stritch NIGHT MUSIC sampler. It's really such a shame. Her SEND IN THE CLOWNS was a perfect combination of acting and singing.
Kurt Yahjian, when interviewed for Jesus Christ Superstar Zone, informed us of a performance during the original Broadway run in which he played Judas, Ted Neeley played Jesus, and Nell Carter played Mary. I'd love to have that preserved, especially Nell.
^I really wish they would record the current cast of Superstar. I'm so, so bummed that it looks like they won't.
I'd love a high quality studio recording of Clark as Sally. I haven't seen her, but if she sounds anything like she does on my bootleg of the 07 concert, woman's singing the role sublimely.
DISCLAIMER BEFORE I GET ATTACKED: I have the newest recording with Bernadette. She sang and acted the role very well when I saw it and on the recording. Please don't bite my head off.
Just a small trifle: I wish the Hasa Diga Eebowi reprise was on the Mormon CD.
I really wish the Ragtime revival had gotten a recording.

South Pacific with Laura Osnes.
Next to Normal with Jason Danieley and Marin Mazzie.
Next to Normal with Jessica Phillips. She is my favorite Diana and I think she sang the score and acted the best out of all of them.
The Encores! production of Fanny.

The Encores! production of ANYONE CAN WHISTLE.
WHISTLE absolutely. It will never have another cast or production like the one at Encores.

The Encores production of Carnival with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Anne Hathaway.
I'm just gonna go ahead and say, I wish all the productions at Encores would get recordings.
The entire score of Inner City
Via Galactica
Gantry
NEXT TO NORMAL with Marin Mazzie...that would be the ultimate broadway DVD!
I will get shot for this, but I'd love for the Pal Joey revival with Risch, Channing and Plimpton to have a cast recording. I loved it.
Bettyboy72, I'll get shot with you. I'd love a recording of that too!
The Ragtime revival and Rock of Ages with Savannah Wise, and while we are at it Lucky Guy (off Broadway)see a theme ;o)
I guess my biggest wishes are for the unrecorded Michael John La Chiusa shows, particularly THE HIGHEST YELLOW. I'm also a sucker for Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, so I'd love to see official recordings of EDGES, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH and DOGFIGHT emerge.

I wish there was a recording of Bernadette Peters in the role, but when I think back to this revival, I wish timing had allowed for Peters and Angela Lansbury to appear together. That would have been, to my mind, the perfect pairing for this revival. I didn't hate Catherine Zeta-Jones the way so many seemed to, although some of her choices weren't completely compelling to me, and the casting of Elaine Stritch as Mme Armfeldt still reads like Stritch in a period dress rather than a seamless blend between character and star.

I don't. The revival cast was like an inferior replacement cast. There was simply no need for a new cast album, except perhaps as a record of the nips and tucks that were made.

Me too. I heard such wonderful things about Marin Mazzie in NEXT TO NORMAL and I would love to hear why. To be honest, I've never really connected with the show so I haven't even made the effort to look around for any record of her work in it. I wonder if Mazzie would make the difference, since I truly love her work and think she's a marvellous actress. I also am a bit of a sucker for a gimmick like this - using a real life married couple to play one on stage - and I often wonder what dynamic that lent to the production while Jason Danieley and Mazzie were in the show.
Adam Pascal as Huey in Memphis
I listen to his "Memphis Lives in Me" all the time, but wish we had him singing the rest of the show
I'll second that I wish Anyone Can Whistle and Carnival at Encores would have been recorded. Adding to that I wish I had recording of Applause at Encores and The Threepenny Opera Revival. While the production was meh, i liked the cast and would have liked it.
