Hahahaha! Hilarious! Brooks has got major balls for doing this. Oh well, it'll probably sell out cause well people are dumb. Really dumb.

Are they serious? So what the hell is the rush price going to be?

Thankfully I know someone in this show. One ticket shouldn't cost more than my car insurance..

Ugh.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

"So what the hell is the rush price going to be?"

There's not going to be rush.

Though nothing official's been decided, Brooks threw around the idea of a lotto that would raffle off the last row of the balcony (though that has only been mentioned the one time someone from sales brought up any sort of 'discounted' arrangement.)
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Won't happen. He's arrogant, but not that arrogant. Remember when David Merrick planned to open a 2nd company of 42nd STREET? Big ideas have a way of ... getting smaller.

$451 is the premium price, so the TKTS price will never be $225, as suggested in the typo-filled article, which appears to have been written by a first grader. Take it for what it is. Wait until you hear it from a credible source.

Joe, it is better that the show get the money and not scalpers, but when is enough enough? Will we someday see "premium" seats going for $1000 a ticket? It's getting a bit ridiculous.

re: Young Frankenstein face price is $451 on weekends

Yeah - I mean there are premium tickets to other shows for like $250, so its not like he's the first.

I know this isnt written in stone yet, but that is so ghetto, I'm sorry. Last row of the balcony...?

As long as people are willing to pay for it, ticket prices will go up. Is it fair? Probably not, but I don't blame them for trying.

Foster's right about the questionable source, though. Let's wait to see what actual posted prices are before we bring out the Mel Brooks effigy. (Did we even get it cleaned up after the last burning?)
Don't be too sure I'm as crooked as I'm supposed to be.

I hate the whole premium seat thing.

At least the scalpers bought the tickets. "It was not fair! We're were not getting the big bucks!" Yeah...but your tickets were being purchased anyway by the scalpers. You were still making money.

Greed.
How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

If this is true, then I am never seeing this show. Dammit, I was looking forward to it. re: Young Frankenstein face price is $451 on weekends

i'm not suprised.

Premium seats for Jersey boys are $350.

I remember just a few years ago premium seats for wicked were only 230 ... now that wasnt that bad.

EH as much as this annoys the **** out of me.... better the theatre than the scalpers. And trust me they DO charge that much

IS THIS FOR REAL??

Dammit, going to see YF with my family was going to be the highlight of my autumn. Don't they realize that a lot of fans can't come to see the show during the week? They are going to loose so much money on this.

Kasim, the difference is that Jersey Boys made that the premium price after they started winning awards. Brooks is going solely off of the Producers success. If he is going to charge that much, I hope he gets what's coming to him. Cause let me tell you, unless that show is perfect in every aspect, it's going to flop due to those ticket prices and being in that barn of a theatre.
