Posted: 6/29/07 at 12:28pmIf you don't like the high prices either buy the $25 tickets that will probably be either rush or lotto, or just buy one of the 60-80 tickets in the balcony. There's no reason why you can't just sit in the balcony or in one of the further back seats. Me, personally I really don't care where I sit as long as I get a ticket to see it.

"Oh, how nice of you. Tell me, why should Streisand not be mentioned in the same sentence as Brooks. I really am curious."
I'd say because Mel Brooks is a proven genius a dozen times over, and Barbra Streisand is just a very good singer, but of course I like Mel Brooks.

No Princeton, I'm just curious as to what you meant by this:
"Don't even put Streisand and Mel Brooks in the same sentence."
I honestly don't know what you meant by that comment. Is it that you think it is OK for Streisand to charge the prices she does, or that you think what Streisand charges is worse than what Brooks charges.

Posted: 6/29/07 at 1:32pmOf course. Streisand is standing alone on a blank stage singing old songs. That's worth way more than an original musical by one of our finest humorists featuring an all-star cast.

Posted: 6/29/07 at 9:35pmwhy would you believe what they tell the newspapers..its alot more than 220 seats closer to 600 to be held for the 2 highest BO prices

Posted: 6/29/07 at 10:26pmI think the price point is fairly appalling, but 120 seats in an 1800+ seat house is less than ten percent of the seats. I think a little perspective might help the sticker shock. Producers will always charge what the market will bear and only time can tell what this particular market will tolerate.

Supply. Demand.
Sorta makes me bummed though.
The elitist nature of what MB's in particular is producing.

billynj: I bought tickets for $120 and got an aisle seat in ROW D on the side orchestra. One time I also found Row A Seat 116 for the normal price. I wonder if they are just lowering the price of premium tickets to normal prices for single seats.
Unless you care about being dead center, there really is no point in buying the most expensive tickets. As Elphabatize said (I'm editing this after she replied), if you plan ahead, you should find something.

Posted: 12/22/07 at 10:43pmUm, I got Row BB (ie. first row) on the aisle in the left orchestra for $120ish (can't remember the exact price). If you're smart and plan ahead, there's no need for the premium seats.

Posted: 12/22/07 at 11:34pmI bought my tix in the Am Ex pre-sale and got great seats for $120. I also went to the BO after the general sale started and got similar seats for the same price. The only reason to pay premium prices is that you wake up that day and want to see the show. I still wouldn't pay $480 to see it, I'd wait and buy them from a ticket site. Just plan a week in advance and buy them from a ticket site if necessary. If people stop buying these tickets, they will lower the price. Don't buy into it, you're doing just what they want you to do.
