Posted: 10/10/08 at 7:07pmIt'd be funny if Vanessa Hudgens came in to play the girl that gets naked. That'd be quite the stretch for her...

The Sun also started the rumor that Clooney and Pitt were no longer friends, since theh both were fighting for the role of Higgins in the My Fair Lady remake.
These are jokes, folks!

Posted: 10/10/08 at 7:38pmI don't know what's worse, his "acting" or the fact that, apparently, he knows neither the title of EQUUS or the the character's name.

Thank you, Jon. But a dose of reality is probably not enough to keep people from commenting on what a terrible idea it is.
It's just a joke, folks! This site is known for having its tongue in its cheek.

Well, to be completely fair, I at least NEVER would have guessed Dan Radcliffe was capable of any brilliant performance.. so..
But yeah, much as I think Zac actually HAS some real potential if he'd just get away from the damn Disney machine, I really don't think he's anywhere NEAR the actor he'd need to be to pull off a serious play on Broadway

Posted: 10/10/08 at 8:59pmWhy do people seem to think Disney owns him? I mean, I'm sure they do to a certain extent, but Vanessa took all of her clothes off and they still let her do HSM3. Is it a penis thing? People do seem to have less tolerance for male nudity.

yeahh I feel like.. even though it SHOULDN'T be this way, people are more willing to forgive female nudity than male nudity. Though, I'm surprised even that they even let Vanessa get away with what she did. Maybe he'd be able to do a nude scene after all.. :)
(I wouldn't be opposed. He's got an amazing body!)

Posted: 10/11/08 at 12:39amSo how many people expecting Radcliffe to be great in the role? As others have said, it's not gonna happen, but what about giving Efron a chance to prove himself before crucifying the guy as talentless. He's been fine in what he has done even if it didn't require him to stretch any.

Posted: 10/11/08 at 12:52amI'm so confused as to why people think he's been "fine" or "good" so far in his career . . . did we see the same Hairspray film?

It was the Hairspray film that got me to think Zac Efron might be more than Troy Bolton. (It helped to go in with an open mind! Something to think about next time.)
Come on though, be fair. We have only seen him in HSM and Hairspray, neither of which really allowed him to stretch as an actor. Until we see him attempt a dramatic role we shouldn't judge his acting.

OK people this article was in the SUN news paper here in the UK, it may as well have been printed on toilet roll.
Plus Zach and the director confirmed that they are moving straight on to the Footloose remake (or re imagining as they called it)so i think hes gonna be pretty busy

Did someone call this a meaty role?
I laughed a lot.

I absolutely had an open mind going into Hairspray, especially considering I didn't know who Zac Efron was at the time.
His performance is the reason I will never watch that movie again.

Whatever, you guys are haters. I would definitely see Zac Efron in this role. I think it would be good for him. He would be stepping out of his comfort zone for once. Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing him naked (neither would a million other people). This is good for sales and money makes the world go 'round. Duh.
EFRON FOR EQUUS!

Efron? NO.
Shia Lebouf? When will people get hip to the fact that this guy can't act? Everything he does is the same. Same performance, different script.
How about Michael Angarano? He seems to get compared to Lebouf but is the better actor.
Not saying I think he's a GREAT fit for a complex role in Equus, just a better mention than Lebouf and Efron.
