Bare: The Musical was slated for Theatre 1 but funding for the show fell through. Dodgers is supposed to be holding the theatre open for them anyway though...

Whatever it is, it probably won't be there long....
Latinologues, Stage 3, January. At least, this is what is in the works.
If they had done Bare back in the day, it would have been an insane success... it really would have.

why would latinologues move from broadway to off? because it can't sustain itself on? i don't know.
anyway, i heard opposite of sex. but i don't know if kerry's soap film in manhattan or l.a.? i guess that would decide that one.

Latinologues only had the Helen Hayes for a limited run, Bridge and Tunnel already has it booked for a mid-January start. It's likely they decided to keep the showing going elsewhere rather than close it. I think the difference in theatre capacity between the Helen Hayes and Stage 3 at Dodgers is less than 100 seats, if I am remembering correctly.
I hope this happens. Dodgers needs some shows in there now that three theatres will be empty!
Also, Trailer Park was in Stage 1, so it obviously wasn't being held for anything, since Trailer Park was an open run.
My understanding is that One Life To Live tapes in NY, so Opposite of Sex could easily make its way into Dodgers. Well.. it could anyway. They don't need Kerry Butler, do they? I've never seen the show, so.

Kathy Brier taped One Life to Live the entire time she was in Hairspray. So, if that were to be a possibility, I don't see why Kerry wouldn't be able to stay with it.
I recently heard ADRIFT IN MACAO, Christopher Durang's musical might show up there.

There's very strong buzz that Loretta Swit's one-woman show, called SWIZZLE SWITS may move into Dodgers early in March.
Dolly, have you signed on as director/choreographer/dramaturg for SWIZZLE SWITS, or was that just a rumor I heard somewhere?
I'm doing the Wednesday and Saturday matinees.
How predictable...I mean, "Break a leg".
So much for your comps.
Loretta will get me comps. I'll ask her. Tonight. While we're in bed.
*projectile vomits*
Latinologues was filling half their broadway venue so half that would be a nice crowd for Dodgers. However, at this moment(Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005) there's nothing on paper.

Mark Lamos is the rumored director os SWIZZLE SWITS. I've been asked to sign out as "consultant". My first suggestion is that the title has to go. SWITZLE STICKS is much more effective. Don't you agree?

Just a guess, but it might be a flop.
Actually, both names are awful. Sounds like she's going to make the Suzanne Somers mistake, except less noticable since it's off-broadway. I mean, is anyone really hankering for a Loretta Swit one-woman show? Maybe at Feinsteins or Joe's Pub, but that's about it.
I kinda hope Opposite of Sex has a life, at least for a limited run, at one of the open stages at Dodgers.

This is just me...but i think that at least one of the Dodger Stages should be used as a stage for culty musicals in rep.: i.e. Rocky Horror, Bat Boy, Reefer Madness, Zombie Prom, etc. Have tickets be at $20 each and do a few midnight shows on the weekends...and there you have a full time occupant. Most of these shows don't work in larger scale venues and their runs were either shortened by weird circumstances like 9/11 or they just weren't produced properly...but they still have the audiences out there, as long as you don't charge $100 a seat.
We actually have that going on in Stage 5. Naked Boys Singing does three shows per weekend. So far it's doing ok business.
