Bronx Bombers without a doubt. Oh, wait. That wasn't a revival. Never mind.
The "Side Show" revival.
Has the Lay Mess revival closed yet?
Been waiting to crack open this champagne bottle.
1. People find it odd when you pose a question you don't answer. It's more like school. Why should we share our thoughts when you haven't shared yours?
2. But I will answer anyway: The Color Purple. It has far surpassed the original in every creative way.
The most recent revivals of Cabaret, The King and I, and On the Town.

Goku's, but only the first time, when we had to see him do all the training beforehand and we didn't really see it coming. Once it became super common and expected it lost all of its drama.

^ Jason Robards starred in the revival of "You Can't Take It With You". When he did get replaced by Eddie Albert, both Ms Dewhurst and Mr. Rose also left the show and were replaced by Eva Gabor and Ellis Rabb.

I'm pretty sure I saw Colleen Dewhurst with Eddie Albert the first time I saw it, and then Eva Gabor had replaced Ms. Dewhurst the second time I saw it. I definitely saw George Rose one of those 2 times, too".
Anyway, it was a GREAT revival, IMHO! :)
The best Broadway revival of a musical I've ever scene is - ok, I'm revising my opinion, South Pacific. The Color Purple is a very close second. Hon mentions to the last revival of Anything Goes, Doyle's Sweeney Todd with Lupone and Cerveris, and Chicago
The best Broadway revival of a play I've ever scene was Boeing, Boeing. Hon. mentions to Leveaux's The Real Thing with Dillane and Ehle, van Hove's A View From the Bridge and two Janet McTeer triumphs, A Doll's House and Mary Stuart.

I know it's pretty divisive but I'm a huge fan of John Doyle's 2007 Company revival.
Pippin -- first
Color Purple and Cabaret -- tied for second
1. Cabaret (199
2. South Pacific (200
3. Gypsy (200
4. Spring Awakening (2015)
5. Tie between John Doyle's The Color Purple, Company, and Sweeney.
Honorable Mentions: She Loves Me (2016), Pippin (2013), and Porgy and Bess, and The King and I (2015).

Bart Sher's South Pacific as well as Diane Paulus' Pippin and Hair.
The 2009 revival of RAGTIME remains one of the best things I've ever seen on Broadway. Still bummed I never got to see the original, but overjoyed that we got such a first-class revival.
