re: guess what extended....

Wow. I am surprised they would extend. I mean, after all the rush for closing night tickets? I can only IMAGINE the uproar from those who bought tickets and made plans to come to NYC for closing night! I don't blame them though... In their position I would be mad, also. Also; why all the remarks about coolkid? Just ignore the posts if they annoy you so much!

re: guess what extended....

Gee, didn't see that one coming at all.

re: guess what extended....

i think they are being corteous to people who have June 1st tickets. Many shows extend, that is always a possibility when you rush to buy tickets. I had original A&A return closing tickets, they extended, we called up ticketmaster they switched them for us, but they didn't HAVE to do that, so I was grateful.

re: guess what extended....

An extremely good move on the producers part. They will get so many people coming in the summer to see it and the fact that it is closing will top it off for the show. They probably are trying to make money from the bankruptcy of 37 Arts, if that Reidel story is true.

re: guess what extended....

I figured this was going to happen...
I WOULD be really excited that its extending, but ever since they announced that Adam and Anthony will be doing the 2009 tour, I could really care less about its Broadway situation...or whatever you want to call it.

re: guess what extended....

Not a surprise at all. So the tickets won't be on sale until all the people who purchased June 1st tickets have traded?

This is going to be interesting..

I would be soooooo pissed if I bought tickets for the "last show." They shoulda seen it coming, though.

re: guess what extended....

In consideration of the Rent fans who have purchased tickets for the currently announced final week, ticket holders wishing to exchange tickets purchased for performances from Monday, May 26, 2008 through Sunday, June 1, 2008 for performances during the extension period are welcome to do so subject to availability.

Above taken from press release... so no one needs to worry about Coolkid having apoplexy.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

re: guess what extended....

From what I understand, the only people from the general public getting in on September 7 are people who had tickets for June 1. The rest of the house that night will be invited guests.

re: guess what extended....

posting to say that i originally had tickets to the june 1st, 7pm show. just called the box office to exchange my tickets for sept 7th, a smooth transaction. so no worries on my end.

although, i wont know exactly where my seats are, i dont really mind anymore.

They are going to milk this for every penny they can.

They're producers, ljay. That's their job. Like the show (and its fans) or not.

re: guess what extended....

Just got off the phone with Nederlander box office. I had matinee tickets.

Gave him TM order # and date I wanted, and he said "OK, just mail the tickets in or bring them in and then we can set you up with tickets." It wasn't clear whether he meant that they would see what was available when they got tickets in hand, or if I was guaranteed tickets to the performance I told him (Sept 4th, the last available). I told him I was a bit worried because I wouldn't be able to get the tickets in for a few weeks (family who is holding tickets is away) and he just kept saying "don't worry about it." Am I guaranteed tickets to this performance?

What have other people's experiences been? Were you guaranteed seats to a specific performance? I'm probably just being paranoid but want to be clear. Can't get into box office now.
