This show is like Fidel Castro, it just won't die.
I called Ticketmaster as soon as it was announced, and asked them to switch my closing night tickets (June 1st) for September 7th tickets, and they said it would be no problem, guaranteed me seats, and promised I had two tickets for that show, and would call me back in a few hours with confirmation and my seat location.
:)
Hmm, thinking whether I should call Ticketmaster instead of the box office then... Then again I only had matinee tickets so I'm only eligible for Sept 4th (or any date between).
coolkid, i'll give it to you, you were right. Now aren't you glad you waited to get tickets?
(i just exchanged mine, same crappy seat, same $55/ticket - as in not $1000- but i'm glad i will be there :)

My dad just told me he got tix's for the 4th. I'm so excited there's no way I can exchange them for the 7th now right?
Again, NO!
Nope. you can only extend tickets bought for June 1st and only ones that were purchased prior to a certain date. Guess you'll get to see the 6th to last show.

coolkid...i bet if you go to the box office and BEG for tickets for June 1st, they'd give them to you!!
I agree. They will. I have a friend, who's friend's cousin's sister's former roomate got one that way.
Ugh... I'm just trying to play a joke on coolkid in response to his annoying posts and everyone is falling hook line and sinker for it... I thought it was an obvious joke, but in times of pressure I guess people aren't looking for. Never mind. Updated On: 3/26/08 at 02:38 PM
Has anyone else called to switch their final week (but not final performance) seats?
I'm actually kind of annoyed now. Being able to see it once or twice more will be cool, but I was seeing it on the final day--now I'm only going to be seeing the 6th to last performance.

TonyVincent, I had the same experience as you. I called to exchange my June 1st evening tickets for September 7th evening tickets. The girl assured me that I would get into the September 7th evening performance, but I was not given any details as to where my seats are or how they'll be issuing my new tickets. I live out of state, so I have to mail in my old tickets. I'm hoping they just mail me my new tickets. She said someone would get in touch with me.
That's what you get for hoarding tickets other people would love to have just so you can make some cash. I don't think anyone's about to feel sorry for you.
That's the first time I see someone bragging on a board that he's gonna be a bloody leaching scalper !!! So you just snatched 16 seats from true fans, just so you can make money ? Great, I hope you are proud YOU BASTARD !!!
Ha ha!
Go GMF.
Thanks for the info, Basketcase. It is a little unsettling to just blindly mail in your tickets and hope your seats for the final are guaranteed.
To everyone--was just kidding about hoarding tickets. Debating whether selling tickets on eBay is morally correct is an argument for another thread and probably another website (I'm a free market economist who supports the creation of markets where they otherwise don't exist, and the people who buy the tickets for big money obviously want to go just as much if not more than whoever would be lucky enough to get them through ticketmaster would). Either way, it's a non issue. I want tickets just like the rest of you. Until then I will hopefully have seats for the 6th to last performance.
I think we (matinee ticket holders) got screwed the most in this deal.

Wow. People really don't understand sarcasm.
TonyVincent, it was clear to anyone who was paying attention that you were riffing on coolkid's incessant annoying questions.
Or did people actually believe that you had some super secret code for discount tickets just for Sept 7th?
Heh, if that was (poor) sarcasm, perhaps I missed it because I stopped bothering to read almost anything coolkid says like, months ago. Y'all should, too.
But trying to put an economics-lesson spin on scalping? Really? lol.
Glad someone got it, Cape.
No worries. I should have known people get tense around here when it comes to RENT closing. :)
The super special discount code part was, um, clearly a joke. Beyond clearly.

It's okay, it makes for more entertainment!

So it looks as though the extension doesn't really effect anyone, since the tickets are all spoken for, right?
Well, it gives you a whole extra summer to see it.
