Hi! I was wondering.. any good songs for a Baritone? It's my senior recital, so kinda like saying goodbye, growing up, anything. It doesn't have to be related to saying goodbye though. I'm singing my favorite duets ever "Lily's Eyes" and "I dont remember you/sometimes a day goes by" with my best friend. But are there any particular solos? Something simple and touching is how i'm feeling.. I'm best at ballads.

I am also a baritone, and i have to recommend that you sing Being Alive from Company... but the Barbra Streisand arrangement. I know, I know... It sounds absurd, but it is actually a great arrangement, and it's a somewhat fitting song for an important change in one's life (oh, i don't know... graduation...) I just sang it for a concert and my only performance recommendation is that you be sure to continue to speed up towards the end or it will become very boring.
"Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" from Les Miz...the final performance date for my musical theatre course was yesterday and a good friend of mine sang that song and there was not a dry eye in the house. It is BEAUTIFUL and heartwrenching.
PS, "I Don't Remember You/Sometimes a Day Goes By" is one of my favorite Kander & Ebb songs ever and is totally not done enough, so you are automatically awesome for doing it. Rock on!

I love the song Where's the girl from the musical Scarlet Pimpernel. Terrence Mann is a bariton and he sang it so beautifully.
For my senior recital in high school, I sang "If Ever I Would Leave You," which I felt was appropriate for the moment. That's my suggestion.
And yes, "How Glory Goes" is an AWESOME song. Just heard it for the first time recently...gotta get the sheet music.

"No One Is Alone" - Into the Woods
"Our Time" - Merrily We Roll Along
"Hard to Say Goodbye My Love" - Dreamgirls (not a baritone song but would be fun)
"Goodbye Until Tomorrow" - Last 5 Years (decent Baritone range, you might want to transpose it up a bit as right now the highest note is just Eb)

"Gonna Be Another Hot Day" from 110 IN THE SHADE.
"A Man Doesn't Know" from DAMN YANKEES
Both originally sung by Stephen Douglass - one of the great baritone leading men of the 50's/60'.
I LOVE "A Man Doesn't Know" - would you happen to know how high it goes?
