does anyone know if and when they will be changing the headshots outside and on the website for n2n (mazzie, jason, kyle-dean, and fahy?)

I doubt that they'll be changing the pictures on the doors of the theatre.

I think they'll change them unless they want to keep it as a tribute to the OBC, like what Heights does.

I don't think they will. Aaron and Bobby's pictures haven't been replaced yet. If it runs for a while casts will constantly be changing, so it would just cost money to replace the pictures everytime someone else joins. RENT ran for over 12 years and kept the same pictures outside. I'm pretty sure that practically all the shows keep the original photos. They're promo photos for the show. I don't think they'll be changed.

Kyle Dean has been in the show since January and they haven't put his picture out front yet. It's kind of ridiculous.

ljay- In the Heights does change the pictures outside of the theater once the performer leaves.

I think Kyle Massey looks enough like Aaron Tveit that they get away with not having his picture out front. I think when Mazzie and Danielly take over they'll have to replace them.

Lea Michele and Jon Groff are still embracing on all the Spring Awakening Tour materials, so I don't think N2N will switch out photos. I think The Ripley eyes and the OBC photos will pop up on tour materials and will stay perched at the Booth.
When I saw the SA Tour Lea and Jonathan were on my Playbill and on the posters outside the theatre. With Lea's current success on GLEE they might want to re-think that. Then again, she probably has no say and signed off on those images.

Yeah but aren't those images of SA faceless?
They won't change Ripley's eyes from the poster design (or the set design). Just the photos of the cast outside.

No, it's not the SA logo from the album cover, it is literally another version of that logo, a black and white photo of Lea and Jon coupling. There faces are clearly visible in profile.

TheatreFan4 - I'm 99% positive that the bottom of all of these photos at the Booth and other theatres still with obc pictures it says "Photos of the original Broadway cast." Or something like that. So I think it would be permitted. Again, not positive but...
You have to understand that these aren't headshots - they're show promo pictures. Of course the headshots in the playbill will change. But nobody's headshots are on the website - those are special pictures taken for the show.

Wicked was TERRIBLE about their website for a while back around '06-'07ish. I took them a month sometimes to update pictures.

It is unlikely that the doors will change. VERY expensive. The website will (eventually -- it's not a priority) and some smaller pix might change.
Any pix taken for a production become the property of the production. They don't need additional permission to use them. You'd have to be a pretty big name and have it in your contract for themm to only use it while you are directly connected to the show.

Brian and Kyle Dean's HEADSHOTS - not new promo shots (like the doors and program) are on the website. They look out of place with the other shots.
Sorry - I didn't check before I made that comment of no hs on the site, because they've always used the promo shots.
But the website still lists Tim Young as the Gabe/Henry u/s and it's been almost 3 months. Little things like this drive me crazy.

That's not always the case, especially with long-running shows like Phantom, Wicked, Chicago, and The Lion King. Off the top of my head, those shows all have souvenir programs featuring all of their various performers, not just the OBC.
A Little Night Music is also going to be re-printing their programs with pictures of Peters and Stritch.

The photo on the all the promo material everytime Fame is in London or on tour is the actor who played Tyronne in the original UK production leaping over the logo, that never changes. And Footloose still had Derek Hough on the posters etc long after he went.

The decision to change photos for promotioinal materials is soley up to the discretion of the producers and if they want to spend the money.
WICKED, the other Broadway production currently produced by David Stone regularly changes their pictures outside the theatre when new cast members come in. I expect N2N will do the same thing when three of the four major leads are permenantly replaced next month.

I still doubt that they will change the doors...regardless of who takes over. They won't be putting new money into this production, they a tour to spend money on. (But of course, time will tell.)

I'm pretty sure they are not going to change the photos because they would have to take the photos exactly like the did with the OBC and it would cost a lot of money. They are scraping by with the running cost with about $300,000 a week profit and a running cost of $230,000. Maybe if they make a more substantial amount of money they will change the website but not the theater photos.
For those who thought NEXT TO NORMAL wouldn't have a life outside Broadway, well it's now playing in 4 cities, 9 different countries and has been translated into 6 languages.

I think this thread has gotten confused by the generic term 'photos.' The photos of the cast outside the theatre will likely be replaced. The door photos will likely not be.
