re the tour question...
i actually think the show is very tourable, but some sets wil have to be built differently, and, like POTO, some sets will have doubles (ie,. the house, for sure, will be built twice for one to be in location A while the other is set up in location B. I think the hous will be broken up into many pieces to make it more tinkerable). The flying, too, could work...they could have Mary fly over at the end, but not as far out.

Let's give some love to the understudies and swings!
I think the first official understudy performance for a prinicipal role will be in January when Luker goes off to do a concert. I think it's going to be Kristin Carbone that weekend. All the best to her!
The swings must be working really hard, and will be! There are so many different ensemble tracks in this show, it surely must be a challenge, props to them!
I'm sure Sean McCourt will make a great Mr. Banks.

Posted: 12/21/06 at 9:39pmI asked Dan if he's going to take a vacation soon and he said not yet. I'm guessing he may take some time off when his kids are off, like spring time off (Easter). Other than that, he doesn't miss a show even he is sick.

Now you can get a Mary Poppin Pop-up program!!! Actually it's the same program as before, except the "Supercalifragi" page is a pop-up wiht Mrs. Cory's store and all the charactors.

They are not recording the Broadway cast.
And even the commercial for The Broadway show is the London Cast.

Posted: 5/16/07 at 1:10pmCongrats on POPPINS 7 noms including Best Musical! :) It might not have a great chance at winning but at least they will perform which will even further help with the popularity and ticket sales of the show! :). I hope they do Step in Time since Gavin was nominated.
#63Dan Jenkins will be on vacation
Posted: 6/29/07 at 12:28amI just learned that Dan will be on vacation starting this Saturday. I'm not sure for how long, I think at least a few days. I think this is the first time he'll be off.

Yesterday Dan Jenkins (Mr. Banks) injured (not broken thanks goodness) his leg during a Broadway Softball League game (did they play in the rain??) and missed the show for the first time (other than his scheduled vacation). He may be out for a few days, but I'm not sure. I hope he'll get better REAL soon!
Meanwhile, break a leg (not literally though) Sean McCourt!

I am sooo sad that it's closing on the WestEnd... I will miss not seeing it going again next week and hopefully another twice before it closes..I wonder if they are ever going to bring back to London??
I am curious to see who is going to be the next MP on Broadway or weather Ashley is staying for a little longer!
#72MARY POPPINS London
Posted: 8/10/07 at 11:54pmI don't know if Ashley will stay but in her interview clip on Broadway.com she said she's no hurry to leave the show. And I know the principles are in negotiation for the contract extension now.

BroadwayEnthusiast2, you'll be seeing on 14th? I'm sure Dan will be back by then. He hates missing a show.
Please share your thought after seeing MP!
