It includes four songs, "Blood In The Water," "Beacon of Positivity," "Legally Blonde," and "Good Boy."

Just to clarify Carrymetorent, Orfeh and *Bryan Batt* were the critically acclaimed two from SNF. While Blake did a fine job, he was not mentioned in the reviews in the way you suggested.
Well, he was mentioned in the reviews when the show toured since he played the lead role of Tony and he was excellent, as always.
"Beacon of Positivity, is that anything like Posituvity? I can foresee this becoming the title of a chapter about Commercial Broadway."
"Posituvity" is a song in the Little Mermaid demo that Scuttle and his bird friends sing.
It is also, in fact, not a word according to Dictionary.com
I know Jimmy, but Carryme worded her statement vaguely and I wanted to clarify. On another note, Orfeh manages to get raves even in wildly maligned shows. Just once, I'd like her to get raves in a hit.

I have never seen Richard Blake give a bad performance and I loved Orfeh in SNF so I hope this show is a hit, too but I really hate that OMIGOD song. I'm hoping it sounds better staged and that the rest of the score is better than that song. I'm seeing it next month so I guess I will find out then.
I'll most likely catch it in SF as well. But I will definitely want to see the final version on Broadway too, that's a longer trip for me.

"Kerry Butler didn't do this Demo/Sampler, this is indeed homegirl (LBB). Butler did, however, perform (with Devin May and other people) in a workshop of the show as Elle Woods and there is a compilation of four illegitimately recorded songs from the show that has become known as a "Demo." It includes four songs, "Blood In The Water," "Beacon of Positivity," "Legally Blonde," and "Good Boy." I do not own this but have retrieved the previous information from a contact, so please to do not contact me about it."
This wasn't a workshop of the show -- those recordings are from an appearance that Larry O'Keefe did at Birdland about a year and a half ago. He previewed those four songs from Blonde (along with a lot of other great stuff), with Kerry as Elle, Deven May singing Emmett, Jill Abromovitz as Paulette, and Kevin Pariseau singing Callahan. "Good Boy" and "Beacon of Positivity" have since been replaced and are no longer in the show, but the title song and "Blood in the Water" are still there.
And yeah... that's not a real demo.

After having listened to the sample, I'd say that it has the potential to be pretty funny, but "Omigod" needs some serious lyrical re-working. The chorus is pretty good, but everything in between is just bad. Hate to compare it to Wicked, but some cute, almost "galinda-fied" words could fit easily into this song and give it a little more charm. Right now it's just annoying.
^Shut up. Ozmopolitan slang doesn't even work in Wicked, don't you dare suggest that audiences who don't choose to see Wicked have to endure such crimes against Mother Earth.
JJJ - Thanks for the clarification as to where it was. I wasn't sure if it was what you stated (which is what I'd heard as well), or a workshop.
And yes I am aware that it is not really a demo, I stated that it had become KNOWN by people who collect such things as a "Demo," for lack of a better term.
Do you happen to have this or something, by any chance? How do you know that "Positivity" and "Good Boy" have been cut?
Al Dente, my mistake. I was of course referring to Richard Blake's positive reviews when he played Tony on tour. His stint as Gus flew under the radar, but what I saw of that was also positive.
Both Orfeh and Richard suffer that fate of good reviews in bad shows. I hope that changes for both of them
Honestly, I love the music and the songs, I downloaded all three, and sent OMIGOD to two friends and they sent it to their friends, and now its all over, Its so catchy and is hillarious. Honestly I can't wait to see the musical, I think it actually has alot of potential. No need to blast it when its released two songs, you dont know the plot (well kinda) and the other songs.
My god, Wait untill you actually see the damn show!

hey! check this out.
go to YT.com /user/btmartin25 and check out the Legally Blonde Clip.
mhmmm.
I actually didn't mind the song that much until I realized how insane I will be driven by people putting their own spins of it on "the-site-that-must-not-be-named."
Come to your sense, please.
omigod that sucked! omigod!
It was slightly catchy.. i'll see it in SF.
It reminds me of the wedding singer...just another pop musical that will close in 10 months or less.. forgettable
oh yeah and 'allofmylife'..don't compare this dreck with Rent...that musical was about AIDS, Drug Abuse..it was a tragedy. Not this crap about wearing pink and being blonde "its the inside that counts" umm try being green?? Rent brought a freshness to broadway. It came out when I was in my late teens and it meant a lot to me that it tackled so many issues with a great rock score. I DO however feel that the show has run its course and should close to allow new shows to open...but calling RENT "hubristic, self-inflated poop" is just nonsense.

Considering the movie, the song really fits. And isn't the whole story about how first impressions aren't everything? Well, in that case the opening number is perfect. It makes Elle sound like a giddy schoolgirl like another blonde good witch we all know. And that is exactly what we are supposed to think of her. The song is insanely catchy though, and it has grown on me, but I have to say that So Much Better is just that and has given me faith in this musical.
Also, I do think LBB sounds a bit like Cheno, but I also have to say that she sounds like Reese Witherspoon, especially when she is talking to the sales girl about the out-dated fashions. And I've always thought that Reese Witherspoon would make a great Glinda should Wicked be made into a movie, so in a way it makes perfect sense that LBB would sound a bit like Cheno.
And as soon as I heard Omigod You Guys, I immediately thought of Pop from TWS, so expect a lot of comparisons to that as well. They are well justified.

Whoah, I didn't even think of that. It is a lot like Pop.
ICEcreamAssasin I stand by what I said and so much more. Rent came out when I was in my 40's, having seen the great works of Sondheim and all of the classics of Kander and Ebb and Fossee and Bennett. I have enough experience in life to know crap when I scrape it off my shoe and that show will be forgotten in twenty years as the inflated one-gimmick wonder that it was. Had the composer not passed away so tragically, it would have had the run of six weeks and faded into obscurity like the rest of the 80's and 90's rockoperas. "Hair" was considered revolutionary by kids in its time and now it's an antique that gets revived for a brief run and then fades back into obscurity again. Sorry, if that offends you but that's my opinion. I'd rather sit through a junior highschool production of Candide than ever, ever have to hear "I'm Going Ooo-wuuut Tonight " again. And that goes for the Tarzan yell at the end of "Defying Gravitiy" in Vicked as well.

Allofmylife, I'm with you 100% regarding "Rent" and the Tarzan yell in "Wicked". OY! All that shrieking is very annoying. Sadly, the fangirls think that's what talent is these days.
B3TA07--
Sorry, didn't mean to sound condescending or anything with regards to the evolution of bootleg to "demo"! Anyway, I know those two songs have been cut because there are a couple of people involved in the show who are close friends of mine, and they told me. Also, check your PMs. :)

It is freakishly catchy. But I think it'll go well the musical. I've seen the movie, it kinda does explain what's happening. Elle is getting ready for her boyfriend to propose to her. & Elle is part of a sorority with a ton of girly-girls. I'm not really ready to bash it.
"They're actually having a conversation with a dog???"
ray-andallthatjazz86 - it's a parody/omage on the old Lassie TV show where Jimmy or another character would translate what Lassie was saying. It's called COMEDY. That post showed us nothing but your IGNORANCE.

I just have to say- this really, REALLY makes me appreciate how GOOD Wedding Singer actually is. I mean, it's a cute song I guess- definitely catchy, I have a feeling I'm gonna have it in my head for a while, but its just... its so campy, even verging on stupid. I dont know.. maybe its because of the cast.. maybe its because I really dont like Laura's voice very much, but just.. no. See, with wedding singer, it COULD have easily been made into something very similar to this, but it was just so smartly written, and the music is so good, and it has such a stellar cast, that it just ended up being amazing. I just remember back when I first heard the Its Your wedding Day demo, and I was like... omg.. its actually SO GOOD! and this one's just... eh, cute. Alright. I MIGHT see it eventually, just kind of for fun, and because some of the cast seems to be really cool.

OMG! That's just too easy....someone else do it please...ok, no, wait, I got it.
I think you suffer from internalized blonde-aphobia.

And songs like "Come Out of the Dumpster" and "Move That Thang" aren't? Please enlighten me.
I know they're different shows, but please explain to me how TWS is "smarter" than Legally Blonde.
