I think that if Barbies (the dolls) were real, this is what they would sing about. Hilarious. I never thought I would hear someone singing the words "omigod you guys." Seriously though, this song makes me think of a Barbie commercial.

"I think Larry O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin have done some INCREDIBLE musical theater songs in the past, and I have faith in them, and am very excited to see the final product."
THANK you. Bat Boy and the much lesser known The Mice and especially Sarah Plain & Tall all have some of the most excellent score writing I've heard in a long time. I definitely have faith in then for Legally Blonde.

Honestly I thought that was terrible. It was really campy in a bad way. And I was just starting to have faith in this musical.
OMIGOD! I think we should all boycott this musical because I heard that 'OMIGOD YOU GUYS' song and it was so bad and campy and OMIGOD, who uses OMIGOD anyway. I think we should all write the producers of the show and have them cut that song because, OMIGOD, no one will go to this musical because, OMIGOD, nobody talks like that in real life and nobody talks to dogs. I'm sure they'll listen to us even though they already made those OMIGOD baseball caps anyway. OMIGOD, Why don't they listen to us 14 year olds because we know the world and we know what good theatre is. OMIGOD, I don't think I will spend all my parents money to student rush or lottery to watch this every time an understudy or swing goes on. And even though I don't know what the rest of the musical is like, OHMIGOD, I'm just going to make a pre-judgement on this show before it even opens. Because even though Jerry Mitchell has learned to not judge people on the outside before looking inside that person, OMIGOD, I'm just going to say I agree with that but judge the show anyway. Because OMIGOD, it's judging and show and not people, so its not the same thing. And OMIGOD, my english teacher was wrong...who need to make paragraphs to make your writing easier to read.
Edit: I neede more OMIGODs.

I never said I was judging the show. Legally Blonde could be ghost-written by Stephen Sondheim and have gold-plated pony rockets in it, and I'd still think that "OMIGOD YOU GUYS" is a piece of sh*t song.
I agree Color and Light. I wasn't bashing the show either, just a badly written song...
allofmylife, you saw "the classics" doesn't make you be able to tell which show is great or crap, so what if you saw "the classics" doesn't mean your **** don't stink. Who cares.

I just have to say- this really, REALLY makes me appreciate how GOOD Wedding Singer actually is. I mean, it's a cute song I guess- definitely catchy, I have a feeling I'm gonna have it in my head for a while, but its just... its so campy, even verging on stupid.
And songs like "Come Out of the Dumpster" and "Move That Thang" aren't? Please enlighten me.
I know they're different shows, but please explain to me how TWS is "smarter" than Legally Blonde.
I dont know how to describe it... but its just, WS, I felt, was really really well written. I'm definitely not saying its not mindless fun, but its just it was done in such a way that is was actually good! The MOVIE of legally blonde is very much the same- it's silly but its really good. But this song just makes me thing the show is going to be too campy. Like, the jokes in the song are supposed to be funny, but.. they're not that funny. THATS what I mean I think- in Wedding Singer, when there was a joke, you were laughing hysterically. (again, its partially because of the cast- I mean you cant have Stephen freaking Lynch in a show and NOT be laughing hysterically because that man is the god of funny. And Amy Spanger is the goddess). Here, I was just kind of going "its okay.. .its cute"
I know, I'm being very inarticulate and repetitive, so I'll stop now haha

I'm becoming addicted to this song.
I think there are treatments available for that kind of addiction! Please get some help before it's too late.
I hope this show doesn't suck.....

Well, it won't suck because it has Richard Blake and Orfeh and Andy Karl in it. As I said, I'm holding out hope that the rest of the score will not sound as bad to me as OMIGOD does.

ok, this is REALLY annoying. I swear I have not been able to get this song out of my head ALL day!! I dont even like it all that much, but... someone give me another song to listen to! quick! lol. Its driving me nuts.
I think I'm amused by the fact that even those who dislike the song will probably have it stuck in their heads for the rest of their lives.
Aaaaahahaha. (That was an evil cackle.)
SONDHEAD: I have to agree with you re: The Mice and Sarah. I hope people will remember that they shouldn't expect a repeat of those shows, or of Bat Boy, for that matter. The sound's going to be lighter and more poppy because the subject matter is... lighter and more conducive to a poppy sound. Personally, I think the sound of the music fits perfectly with the story that's being told.
So loving this score,
~JJJ
Even if people dont like it, look at the press it is already getting. For every person who doesn't like it, I am sure there is someone who will.
If I have to be the 20 year old torch-bearer for a big, pink, glittering show about blondes. I will. And they will follow. There will be a big, pink, glittering fanbase of doom.
Mark my words.
I think the song is great.

AnythingCanHappen, I'll follow you. Two twenty-years-old torch bearers can do anything!
Maybe our big, pink, glittering fanbase of doom can pass the green-faced fanbase of Wicked. (Maybe not, but a girl can dream, right?)
I'm looking forward to "Legally Blonde" and maybe some of these naysayers will be converted, if only secretly.
DefyingEDCT my **** stinks just like everyone elses'. Which means, I guess, that I know **** when I encounter it.
And I am of the opinion that the shows I mentioned are turds, comparing them to what I and most other Broadway enthusiasts consider to be classics..
I stand by my original opinion. And I will defend to the death your right to have, share or keep private whatever opinions you have.
Everyone should have an opinion and a say.
Except Ben Brantley.

See, with wedding singer, it COULD have easily been made into something very similar to this, but it was just so smartly written, and the music is so good, and it has such a stellar cast, that it just ended up being amazing.
Hon, I think it was the "smartly written" part that kind of threw people off. Can you elaborate on what about THE WEDDING SINGER is "smartly written"? I could write an essay on how THE WEDDING SINGER is everything but "smartly written", but I have a feeling yours will be shorter, so entertain us.

I follow you, I'm one 18 year old torch bearer. I love what I have heard from the sampler. I just can't wait to see a comedic musical back at the Palace- the Palace deserves alittle bit of laughs.

make that 4 torch-bearers. I'm not a LEGALLY BLONDE fan, heck, I've never seen the movie or anything, but this show has my devotion because of Laura Bell and the amazing cast!
and I cannot stop listening to the sampler, no matter how annoying the "omigod you guys!" phrase can get :)
Count me in and I have faith the show is going to be great and that other songs will be alot better and more appealing to everyone, that and the fact that my FAVORITE couple is playing a couple. OMIGODYOUGUYS!
