God, I don't know whether I'm more put off by the naysayers or those who are defending it unabashedly.
I'm excited about it, and I'm going to have to stop reading these threads if I'm going to continue to be.

Everything's subjective, so I'm not sure why everyone takes such offense to everyone's opinions. But, I don't mind it. I think it's catchy, but not sure how it will play out. It has great promise and the composer writes some great stuff (Bat Boy, Cops) so I think it could turn out to be hilarious.

dkonbroadway, I agree about munk.
The show may not run forever, but I like it.
Can't wait for a cast album!
I LOVE it. it's perfect for the musical and fits right into the theme. in my opinion nothing else would work for the opening. it may be annoying now, but i'm sure that it will have breaks and not go thru the entire song like that in the show because not all recordings have the full opening in it because of some talking.
I hope that the show is much better than this song.
I'd post my thoughts on the song if the song would just play and not have to re-buffer every five seconds! If they wanted people to download it, they should have offered it as an MP3. The streaming music thing is not working for me.
Yeah, I had a problem with it buffering all the time. So I listened to the version on the sampler.

The sampler is fantastic.
"Take It Like A Man" is awesome.
Kerry Butler didn't do this Demo/Sampler, this is indeed homegirl (LBB). Butler did, however, perform (with Devin May and other people) in a workshop of the show as Elle Woods and there is a compilation of four illegitimately recorded songs from the show that has become known as a "Demo." It includes four songs, "Blood In The Water," "Beacon of Positivity," "Legally Blonde," and "Good Boy." I do not own this but have retrieved the previous information from a contact, so please to do not contact me about it.
I have also heard from a friend who has the 8-track Sampler (these 3 and 5 others) that "Pop and Snap" is pretty 'fierce.'
Guys, they DO offer at as an MP3. It's on a different part of the site.
That said, after listening to it, I promptly deleted it from my Itunes. I don't mean the show ill, but that song seriously gave me a headache, and that's not hyberbole. Omigod is right!

I liked OHMIGOD YOU GUYS, but I have to agree "So Much Better" is a stronger song. Maybe because Elle is realizing there is more to her than just loving Warner and becoming his wife and so her character is becoming stronger. And I love TAKE IT LIKE A MAN and Christian Borle's "Is this the PRICE?" (Sounds like something I would say, and I'm a girl)
And AugustBurns2, I love "Let's Go to the Mall Today" by Robin Sparkles. That video is brilliant! I hope we see more later in the season.
I just hacked something up, listening to that....
It sounds like rakes on chalkboards.
"Maybe if you actually read the past posts, you would have gotten the sampler"
No need to be rude, nobody linked that site before.
Does anyone know how to get the other 5 sample songs?? I'm loving these songs!!
"Pop and Snap" is pretty 'fierce.'
"Pop and Snap"? Shouldn't that be "Bend and Snap"?
the song could be called "Pop and Snap". I dunno... where do we download that one at?
Everyone needs to stop fighting over one damn song from a show that started rehearsing less than a week ago.

This song sounds pretty good. I don't like the part where she finally finds the dress. She does sound a lot like Kristen. I'll wait till it opens.
Those of us complaining are NOT judging the show, we are posting what we think about the song that the show itself has posted online...

"said the man who is obsessed with the Batman score by Steinman. That puts it all in perspective."
What's wrong with that? It's my opinion, I stand by it. I don't think any of it's terrible. I'm also "obsessed" with Sweeney

"My favorite part of "wedding Singer" actually happens to be Richard's dance break in "All About the Green" - that boy can dance!! "
yes, yes that is very nice. mmmmmm. dreamy. yes, yes.
Just to clarify Carrymetorent, Orfeh and *Bryan Batt* were the critically acclaimed two from SNF. While Blake did a fine job, he was not mentioned in the reviews in the way you suggested.
MOXIEINTHECITY- The Luke Wilson character is being played by Christian Borle.

I liked the song, if only for the fact that it had some bounce to it. It's not rocket science - not even close- but it's Legally Blonde...what did you guys expect? They were going for a valley girl sound and that's what they got. Yes, it does grate on the nerves after repeat listening, but again, it's Legally Blonde. I need not say more.
To respond to Munk's post - Munk, you are not alone. I can say something negative and the whole place starts jumpin'....then when 5 people agree, it mysteriously stops....the ironic thing is that the people who jump haven't seen the shows I'm talking about...
wow that was a bad song.
like, just bad.
