Certainly presents an interesting view of Cheyenne!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
Yay! I just bought the off-Broadway recording and can't wait to actually see it.
And Cheyenne Jackson and Gideon Glick are awesome!!!
Limelightmike,
That seems to be the eternal question...However--what is great about this piece is that within the show itself it is CONSTANTLY asking that question...And in my personal opinion I think its a question totally worth asking and completely necessary in today's world of musical theatre.
I have shared my opinion many times before but if you want I'll share it again- [title of show] may have obscure references, be infused with inside jokes, and may only have 4 chairs and a keyboard but in turn it is a completely universal story.
I think many people (any age/any occupation) will be able to relate to a story of friends, art, self-doubt, and dreams for the future...I think to some extent we all face these things at some point in our lives and to hear/see it on stage is really moving some might even say life changing...(whaaat? a musical changing my life---unheard of.)

When I saw the Cheyenne Jackson tag I was hoping it meant they show him in the sauna segment. But I still enjoyed his angry interaction with Mindy.

I love these videos, and I'm so glad that they are going straight to Broadway.

It could work. It's very "experimental" in terms of a general Broadway show, but crazier things have worked. Perhaps they'll spruce it up a little bit for Broadway - i.e. add a set around the "4 chairs / Piano" - something that is more of a statement rather than a set to actually use.

That is exactly the reason "A Chorus Line" has been running for years and years.
Is it April Fools Day already?

Who wasn't disappointed about not seeing Cheyenne in a sauna?
Circle in the Square?
Did we mention Circle in the Square?
Because I'm pretty sure someone mentioned it.
Did they?
Oh, well in case they didn't...

This comment won't be popular, but... I don't think [tos] belongs on Broadway. Why can't a show just be a really nice off-Broadway show? There seems to be all this pressure these days to move everything to Broadway, but it isn't always the best idea. The show does NOT have wide audience appeal. Yes, everyone on this board will go see it, maybe more than once, but that does not an audience make!
I liked the show, don't get me wrong, but in my opionion, they should just remount off-bway. From what I remember, the show didn't sellout nightly off-bway. (I was able to walk up right before the show one night and get great seats.)
