The Lion King is always a safe choice, and the spectacle really holds up. And it's pretty darn adorable when a kid is sitting on an aisle seat and gets really wide-eyed at the animals processing right next to them.
Anastasia is also a great choice, especially for girls. It's in the fairy-tale princess mode (complete with big sparkly gowns) but a little more grounded in reality too.

Sponge bob is your best bet. Maybe Charlie and the chocolate factory, but I heard its pretty grusome.

For the young 'uns: The Lion King, Aladdin, Wicked, Cats.
But it really depends on the kids. I think parents know their own kids the best and I don't see why a mature inquisitive kid couldn't handle Phantom, Hamilton, Hello Dolly! or DEH.

SpongeBob, maybe Dear Evan Hansen if they can handle that subject matter and are male, Lion King, Wicked and Hamilton is a toss up based on the type of child.

The language/jokes/subject matter might not make DEH a good choice...

Is this a list of shows not to see or... Just alone in Waitress they do IT on stage, Miss Saigon is way too mature, same for M Butterfly, they have the same plot and the ending. Book of Mormon should be way out of the picture.

Matilda would be my pick for best ever, or at least in recent memory.
Currently, SpongeBob easily.

Posted: 11/12/17 at 12:29amSpongebob would be perfect, it's tons of fun and entertaining for kids of any age. I also agree with Anastasia, kind of a Disney Princess but better. School of Rock is appropriate and also a blast.

Dear Evan Hansen is definitely not kid-friendly. Heavy subject matter, sexual references, language. It's a great show, but not for young kids.

I honestly loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think it s a great show for kids because it was really engaging, and kids don't care about the minimalistic set.
The Disney shows are great too, I've only seen Aladdin, and that was spectacular and sparkly. Gotta say though - I saw both on lotto wins and I liked Charlie a lot more
