why no announcement on who will be starring in Hedwig tour?
Posted: 4/19/16 at 4:11pm
It was announced in March that it was going to be John Cullum.

There are still nearly 6 months to go before the tour launches, be patient. Who knows, maybe they're not looking to stunt cast the show either. If that's the case, they probably won't announce it until a couple of months or so before the start of the tour. Look at the most recent Cabaret tour, they didn't announce their cast until December and the tour started in late January, I think it's still too soon.

Jordan, I just had to stifle a laugh at work.

Don't tease me.

Jordan -- in some weird way, that could actually work. I'd buy a ticket.

Individual tickets aren't even on sale for the show yet, so... that does negate the need a bit. That said, if Hedwig was coming near me and tickets were available, I'd buy a nice, close ticket as soon as I could, since I'm going to see the amazing show and not sitting on the fence to decide if I agree with the casting.

Thanks for the snark everyone, I've now been schooled by BBW finest ??

Eh, we lost a few of our finest in the Battle of Murin.

I've heard it's the guy from Scissor Sisters
Posted: 4/19/16 at 4:36pm
Well, that makes sense now why Hedwig is more a country rock star a la Kris Kristofferson rather than glam. Inspired creative change!

They convinced Babydaddy to shave?!

What snark? How schooled? Jordan made a joke that people appreciated. Anything that didn't deal with his joke, DID address your question. 6 months out IS early for those kind of announcements, and since you can't get individual tickets yet, doesn't seem like you need to make a decision yet.

Bahahaha!!!!!

My well reasoned guess is that the tour will use Kevin Cahoon, who has played the role quite a lot and has no problem touring. Perhaps with big names filling in during the major stops.

Other high-profile shows going on tour/sit-down productions this fall which haven't announced their cast - Fun Home, Hamilton.
And I think they should cast Eric Stonestreet.

It won't happen, but I'd personally love to see Jared Leto tackle the role.

Cracked up at "The Battle of Murin."

I'm still shocked the New York Times didn't contact me about the story.

Those aren't one man shows, though. Hedwig doesn't sell itself.
I've heard talks, but I'm thinking they are going to go with different people - it's too difficult of a show.

Thank goodness. After what happened with John, I was surprised they didn't bring in an understudy for at least Darren.
