"He 'styles' me." I thought that was so cute.
I didn't think Idina's performance was TOO bad, I've never hear her sing live before and I did know that she had been out of the show for a while because she was sick, so all things considered, she wasn't too bad.
I'd never heard Jennifer Laura Thompson sing before, I have to say she amazed me.
And Rath, if you're talking about the performance at Barnes and Noble on 10/25 Thompson wasn't there. It was Shoshana Bean, and Stacie Morgain Lewis as Glinda.

ouch, the gasping sounded sort of phlegmy on The View. i'm hoping it's because she's sick. usually i've only heard her gasp during defying gravity and other more "powerful" songs, not something like For Good.
and you know, i never really realized just how pretty idina is. she's got very nice facial features.

I fell asleep right before it was supposed to be on. I am so mad. And then I feel asleep and was late for work. This sucks.

In all honesty, I thought that this performance was very good and I didnt even know Idina was sick...God, I hope she's good tomorrow when I see it. Idina sounded very good IMO, and JLT blew me away...I thought the performance was great.
Is Idina really sick? Usually with bronchitis, you can barely talk let alone sing, therfore, I dont think she has bronchitis...I thought she did very well and I hope she's in the show tomorrow...she probably will be just because its the annversary...I cant wait!!
Just FYI: A Broadway outsider looking in, who watched the performance with me, was blown away. So there's an opinion of someone who knows barely anything about Bway or WICKED.
I think we need to stop finding the smallest things to make fun of/bash Idina for...shes a great actress/singer, obviously, or she wouldnt have won the Tony.

For as great of a show as Wicked is, the songs do not translate well to television. All of the TV performance I've seen them do (Letterman, Today Show, Tonys) have always been subpar.
And I missed the first half of the show, but Joy definitely had a Madame Morrible thing about her.

anyway, how sick is Idina? Is she like just getting over it er...oh please say she's getting over it and not just beginning to get sick...I hope that shes good tomorrow! *fingers crossed*

Posted: 10/29/04 at 6:06pmI just saw the performance because i taped it, and it was pretty good. The interview made me smile seeing Idina very giddy. The performance was pretty good (better than popular), but it didnt seem to really sell the show over to people who have never seen or heard about Wicked. just my humble opinion.
