What Next For The Majestic? May 9

Not crazy about the maroon and gold with the cream and blue…
((I realize it’s the house curtain that won’t be viewed with most of the productions that come to play the Majestic; but the differences in the contrasts that throw me off.))

I rarely post on here, but did Mr. Roxy pass??
Second to that; I think the Palace looks amazing, minus the carpet. I love the blue, and the chandelier.

MAMMA MIA! 25th Anniversary Tour recoups in 13 weeks Mar 5
2024, 12:08:55 AM
I’ve seen the show almost 150 times, and I agree with the poster above that this cast is fantastic! (And a second agreement with Tanya singing amazing; right up there with Karen Mason!)
Let’s hope they spend some money on some set upgrades, as the soft side legs and light-less floor shouldn’t come to Broadway.

MAMMA MIA! Will Embark on 25th Anniversary North American Tour Nov 15
2023, 01:27:22 PM
I saw the tour in Los Angeles last night, and it was an ABBAsolutely fabulous night at the Pantages! I have seen the show more than 125 times with a vast majority of that being at the Winter Garden with the original cast. (I was 20 years old, and couldn’t get into bars, so I would just go and see the show every Friday night from standing room.)
The Great:
CHRISTINE SHERRILL as Donna. Wow, she is fantastic! I’ve seen many actresses play the role, and I think Christine

SARAH BRIGHTMAN To Star in SUNSET BLVD In Sydney Oct 9

I was just trying to make a post about this, but I kept misspelling things because I am so excited! Everything about this announcement seems so exciting with Sarah being the unlikely, yet perfect choice for this role. And the part about the stunning sets is very intriguing as well!

Mamma Mia! at the Winter Garden Theatre Jun 26
2023, 04:58:48 PM
I've been looking over some photos from when Mamma Mia! played at the Winter Garden.
Other than removing 1 or 2 rows of seats from the front orchestra, it also appears that the boxes closest to the stage were also covered. Where I'm confused is I would think they would have extended out where the black sides of the proscenium appear flat.
Does anyone have any information about technical specs or set installation from when Mamma Mia! played there?
Thanks!

Tony-winning scenic designer Eugene Lee (SWEENEY, WICKED, etc) has died at age 83. Feb 8

Oof… I haven’t posted on here in ages, but this is one of the more painful deaths for me.
Eugene Lee was an absolute master of a set designer. He inspired me with his larger than life stage designs, and I’m so thankful that I’ve been able to see his work on stages in New York City, Denver, Las Vegas and Southern California.
It’s pretty cool that he designed Wicked, Showboat and Sweeney Todd all for the Gershwin Theatre. It&rs

Tall people blocking view in theatre Jan 18

I have not posted on this board in years but I am a very active reader. Posts like this are the reason I stopped bothering trying to be a part of this "community". As with everything, there are advantages and disadvantages to height. However, this post is so ignorant that it comes off like a person with straight hair being frustrated that someone in front of them had hair that was too curly. Just like you ca

Sounds pretty much like reviews for the show when it hit BWay! Fluff, but you can't help but enjoy yourself! Can't wait to see my favorite cougar Tanya on the prowl! I'm lovin' Does Your Mother Know on the soundtrack! It's SO much better than the OLC!

re: Mamma Mia- Donna Question Jul 2

Yup, every type of hair has been seen. The original Toronto/US Tour/Broadway Donna, Louise Pitre has fabulous silver hair. Same deal with the Tanya's, and every other cast member for that matter. Even "the girl with golden hair", Sophie doesn't always have golden hair.

Heya Wilber! I saw the show opening night in Greeley! You were awesome! I also saw the OBC a week after opening, so it was quite the experience to see an amateur cast, but I thought you were all great!

One question though, "Take A Chance On Me" and "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" seem to be more like the ABBA originals than the stage show, so I'm curious if they've re-done these tracks for publicity or if they've changed how they're done...
