“10 to 12 cast members of the current Les Misérables tour plan to sit out the June 11 show,” are there performers being flown in to cover these tracks? How are they planning to continue with the performance?

I was gonna say that John Voight and Kid Rock would play Eponine and Fantine, respectively. Then I realized they’ve banned drag performances!

The new budget has 257 million going to the Kennedy Center. (as in 257 million going to Trumps friends at the Kennedy Center)
The actors should ask for a percentage of that.
The entire cast should boycott the entire run.
I would boycott the entire production tour. They could have pulled out of the Kennedy Center run but I guess Cameron Mackintosh didn't want to.
Good for them. If boycotting was not an option, I’d LOVE to see them just sleepwalk through the whole performance. No energy, no high notes, no accents, walking through the choreography- giving NOTHING

I hope that there is a big tariff on all the tickets, after all this is a musical import not a genuine ‘Murican Musical.

I hope he gets an Abraham Lincoln welcome.

To be fair, I’d gather this would be something NETworks would be the decision maker of.
Bravo to them. Here’s the statement from the person who identified himself as the President of Kennedy Center:
“Any performer who isn’t professional enough to perform for patrons of all backgrounds, regardless of political affiliation, won’t be welcomed,” said Grennell. “In fact, we think it would be important to out those vapid and intolerant artists to ensure producers know who they shouldn’t hire - and that the public knows which shows have political litmus tests to sit in the audience. The Kennedy Center wants to be a place where people of all political stripes sit next to each other and never ask who someone voted for but instead enjoys a performance together.”
CNN on boycott

Girl, be serious. The musical LES MISERABLES is not some sacred text.

Oh I dunno, I’d rather respect the fellow artists who are the reason I’m earning a paycheck.

Paul Rudnick in the early 90s had a play Off Broadway called Jeffrey that was then made into a movie. The Les Mis not being a scared text reminded me of one of my favorite lines in the show.

The crowd that keeps chanting for respect is the last one to give it.

Wow. What an uneducated thing to say. Reread history and then get back to the board.
He's gotten word by now and probably won't show up or cancel the show's KC booking altogether.

On one hand I completely support what they are doing. But isn't that just proving him right and giving in to him? If there is no one to fight against hatred, then the battle is lost before it has even begun.
If he actually shows up for that or another performance out of the blue, chances are he won't even stay awake through act 1 and will probably disappear during intermission.

What he's trying to prove is that he is the arbiter of what should play at the Kennedy Center, this is actively taking away that from him. Making it so that the show can't go on because they say so, not him. Performing there is not fighting him, they'd be performing because he's allowed them to. In the grand scheme it should be Cam Mac pulling the show entirely from the Center, but he's too much of a rich douche to do so and this at least allows the cast to say SOMETHING while minimizing the risk to their employment. In the end I'm sure its going to be a situation where he ends up not attending the performance and it goes on as planned and the cast doesn't sit it out.
