Tammy Faye closing on December 8!

It was the music
Of something beginning,
An era exploding,
A century spinning
In riches and rags,
And in rhythm and rhyme.
The people called it Ragtime...
Ragtime!

Mescal to bring Frecknall-helmed STREETCAR to Broadway?
 Nov 11 2024, 12:54:20 PM

London tix go on sale this week. They are literally rushing this to BAM. There’s just 6 days between the West End production closing and opening in NYC. That’s gonna take a lot of of the cast!

Any thoughts on why both Mescal and Scott have opted a non-Broadway run?debut?

Well…I’m just happy that I’m hopefully gonna get to see this production in London as I missed the last run by like a month and a half. But I think the whole short London run as a “public rehearsal” sounds about right or just to get the hype around it up again as people were wanted a

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 11/3/24

If Tammy Faye is gone before year's end, could we possibly see a fast-track transfer of Ragtime, or would it be better to wait until Spring?

The current West End production is NOT the original Hal Prince production. That version is now a thing of history.

Green also RAVES about Joshua in the first three paragraphs of his review alone:

To say that a singer blows the roof off a theater, as Joshua Henry does in the revival of “Ragtime” that opened at New York City Center on Wednesday, is to understate what great musical performers do. It’s not a matter of so-called pyrotechnics, as if their vocal cords were dynamite sticks. Nor is it a matter of volume, so easily finessed these days. Also beside the point are ultrahi

Anyone able to give a clue of what the review says?

He ends with this:

Perhaps this “Ragtime” is so moving precisely because its most tragic character can still convince you, at least in music, that there is hope for America, even now.

I also hope this will come to London. I’ve never seen a full production of Ragtime before and need to see it! Hope a cast recording is coming as well! We NEED IT! This is also the best thing for Lear DeBessonet as she finishes her tenure at Encores and moves to Lincoln Center.

New Cabaret casting spring 2025?
 Oct 22 2024, 04:45:16 AM

I would want nothing more than for Mason Alexander Park to reprise their performance from London, but I don't think they could sell out houses night after night.

As for Sally Bowles, if they want to have MASSIVE sell-out crowds, then they should have BIG names like Zendaya, Dove Cameron, or even Renee Rapp. Zendaya alone could pack houses night after night. Then they don't have to have as big of a name for the Emcee.
