Agree. The vocal warmth isn't there. Neither is the great build.
I hope she can fix it.

SMASH was weekly TV series with one-hour episodes, so they decided they needed more storylines than just a show trying to make it to Broadway. TV show got panned because those episodes was like the show was try

I just cannot see her in serious roles after Jenna Maroney. She’s brilliant tho, and I have no doubt she’d change my mind.

Especially excited for Krysta's return to Smash and to hear Caroline Bowman and Robyn Hurder's wonderful voices. However, I'm a bit worried about the amount of changes they've made to the TV show. Or Amy Poehler. She would be perfect."
Kathy has sung an auto tuned title song to her short lived talk show, but I do believe she can carry a tune. Amy can hold her own with harmonies, I bet character singing would be a breeze for her honestly. <

Someone said the Cathy standby is associated with a previous beloved but unconventional Last 5 Years. Using context clues, as I previously guessed, I think it’s Nasia Thomas, who previously played Cathy in the BRILLIANT broadcast production that was filmed live in a NY apartment during Covid.

It is very likely IMO that the show will start to peter off at some point, get a bump if she wins the Tony, then start to peter outagain. Unless a big star, the producers will have no reason to take a chance on losing money and either dilute whatever profits they have or lose even more.
So, if this is not a purely theoretical thread, the questi

I would also like a 60th anniversary production of Mame, as long as they can get a great Mame."

That was fast. And given her previous interviews on the subject, she was definitely interested. Wouldn't be surprised if the word on the street actually hurt the bottom line of her negotiations...."
This is precisely what I think happened. People didn’t respond well to the prospect and that affected their decision. She hasn’t had a single success (even WSS bombed in theaters), so she’s not a draw."
Alright naysayers. Debose is filming a series with Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis (two of the most famous actresses in the world), playing Cordelia in Lear Rex with Al Pacino as Lear and Jessica Chastain as Goneril, and she has many other projects scheduled. If you want to hate on her for whatever reason, that’s fine. But she’s clearly a success, and she’s clearly a draw. You can have your opinion, but don’t be making up BS to support it.

Now I am not certain on this, but I do think audiences would be much more agreeable about seeing a musical about a beloved comic book character and icon than a musical about a controversial Christian magnate.
