Basically anything from Showboat. That was the first real show with any sort of serious plot or anything, right?

The pillar says something about it being a "word of mouth show"

re: Worst Changes Made in an Amateur Production Apr 24

I was in a production of Bye Bye Birdie in which they wouldn't allow Hugo to get drunk even off milk, so he was depressed instead. It worked if you didn't know he was supposed to be drunk, but it was just kind of odd otherwise.

re: My Legally Blonde Review Apr 11

I'm going to see this in April, and I'm actually becoming more excited about seeing what I think of the show than the show itself (if that makes any sense). All the reviews have been interesting so far, with most people not loving it but not hating it either. Oh well. What did you think of the casting? Just curious...

If tickets were full priced, who would you ACTUALLY watch read the phon Apr 7

Bob Martin would be pretty swell.

My nose is all red in the one with Hunter because I was waiting for him for almost an hour...

re: So, Whatcha Seeing Next? Apr 2

Going to NY twice in April. Spamalot - On a church trip, oddly enough. (We saw DRS last year) Legally Blonde - With my Bio class. My teacher really doesn't know much about theater at all... I'm only going for Mr. Borle.

re: Shows Where You Love The Score But Hate The Show Mar 28

Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, Mama Mia, or anything else where they just make up a plot to fit the songs into it.

re: Picture of Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd Mar 27
2007, 03:41:30 PM
I think wonderfulwizard's right, it'll be tons better once it has the set etc. Plus, Mr. Depp is a really physical actor and I'm sure he's come up with some interesting posture for Sweeney. I can't wait to see him in character. PS: I totally agree with the butt comment.

re: Any news on PIRATE QUEEN and LEGALLY BLONDE OCRs ??? Mar 27
2007, 11:27:54 AM
*Pouts* I really wanted the Legally Blonde recording before I saw it in April... And a PQ OCR wouldn't be bad either, but I don't know if I'll spend all the money on a complete recording (God bless Highlights-from CDs)

re: Les Miserables (Paris Theatre Mogador 1991) Cast Recording Mar 27
2007, 11:24:13 AM
I love the french version (my French teacher made a copy for me), especially during A Heart Full of Love, when Cosette hits that unearthly note at the end. It's really amazing. One thing that bothers me is that the Eponine has a horrible scream compared to Frances or Lea, but I like her a lot anyway

I have at least 2 cast recordings of most musicals I know. Usually in different languages or countries or revivals or whatnot. And I have eaten the booklets.

re: Everyone's name? Mar 20

Wicked fan, especially the "Let the green girl go" line (just 'cause Fiyeros are always so hot on that rope), plus green is my favorite color and Greene is a family name, so it's all very appropriate. And 2/24/06 was the date on which I saw my 1st Broadway show (and my friend's 14th birthday...).

re: Worst/Corniest/Cheesiest Line in a Show Mar 19

The Wicked punch line is actually "Lemons and melons and pears" My friend and I are having a Broadway pary, and all the food is stuff from musicals, so that's what's going in our punch.

Oh yeah, Cold Feets is pretty awesome. And the one near the end of Spelling Bee with Olive and Barfe is cool as well.

Anything from DRS, Miss Saigon, Chorus Line, or in Dancing Through Life.
