Which Show Is Better
 Apr 20 2025, 11:08:13 AM

I saw both this week and if I had to pick one to see it would be Othello. Yes there are issues with it but it’s a better story. GNGL is just a meh story.  Both have flaws but I thought other all the acting was better in Othello. JG is a good Iago and I think Denzel give a better performance that George.

Real Women Have Curves - Broadway

So the technical stop lasted about 15 mins and then they started up again. Not sure what the issue was but didn’t notice any other issues for the rest of the show. Overall I that it was good. A talented cast telling a story that is as relevant now as ever. A couple of understudies were on tonight. I agree there are a few songs that don’t advance the story and the role of Henry either needs to be explored further once all together. The ensemble doesn’t have much to do as the

At the show tonight and they’ve stopped it in act 1 for technical difficulties. Gotta love live theatre

I’m seeing this tonight. Curious if Tatianna will be back. Must be tough to be out for a period during previews. Either way I’m looking forward to a totally new work.

THE LAST FIVE YEARS Reviews

so I was there tonight and I echo what a lot of people are saying Nick Jonas sounds too pop for this score. He’s a fine singer and sure he’s talented but I just don’t think he is right for this role. I thought that the chemistry he had with Adrienne Warren wasn’t as bad as everybody thought and to be honest, I kind of liked the interaction between the two characters. I thought it had just the right amount of interaction and at the right moments to help tell the st

OTHELLO Reviews

Saw this tonight and really enjoyed it. I had read the reviews so knew there were parts that people didn’t enjoy. That said I thought the whole show got better as it went. JG is definitely the strongest part of the show but Denzel is such a legend it was a pleasure to see him on stage. I think he is getting more comfortable in the role based on some of the early reviews I read. Molly Osborne was very good although I had a tough time believing their marriage given their very obvious larg

OPERATION MINCEMEAT Reviews

I saw the show last night and really enjoyed it. I think it helps that I grew up in a British household and spent my summers in England so I understand and enjoy British humour. The cast are fantastic and put their all into the show. I think it would be a different show without the original cast. I sat up in the rear mezz in row D and it was a great seat for the price. Didn’t miss anything. Would definitely recommend this show to those who like history, and a good laugh while seeing an

2024-2025 Broadway Season
 Mar 1 2025, 01:21:01 PM

I have to say that this season does not excite me as previously seasons. I’m doing my annual trip next month and it’s the first time in a while that I’m struggling to fill all 7 spots (first world problem I know) which shows I’m excited about. Maybe it’s because I’ve been lucky enough to see a lot of shows over years so I typically see new shows when I go. This year I’m seeing:

gypsy, L5Y, Othello, Good Night and Hood Luck, Real Women have Curv

Have you sat there for this production. I’m going in April but the seats are super expensive. Nothing under $148 anywhere but the rear mezz…I worry the rear mezz will be too far back?

Keala Settle accent?

kinda interesting since her mom was born in NZ and her Dad is British. She grew up in Hawaii so neither the southern twang or British is her native accent.

Keala Settle accent?

I noticed it in an interview about a year ago. I know she has been living in London so is likely picking up the accent (I had a full British accent as a kid but now it’s fully Canadian after moving here). It’s crazy that it also sounds lower now  as well.

The Jonathan Larson Project
 Feb 15 2025, 11:59:05 AM

Yeah likewise. I’m curious and I know it’s a weird question but does it have a plot? Is it a story step to JL’s songs. I always try and see something off broadway when I’m in the city and this has me intrigued.

Yeah I’m still on the fence as I got a partial view ticket for $87. Going to think about it and see what reviews are like for operation mincemeat and the Jonathan Larson project and then decide

April trip to NYC
 Feb 11 2025, 10:08:24 AM

Another April traveller although I will be there April 15-20 and got the email last night about Nicole being out. I’m kind of now in a spot of deciding whether to keep my partial view SB ticket which I paid $87 for or refund for sometime else. As it stands right now I have 1 slot left and am waiting to see the reviews for Operation Mincemeat. I typically go for more dramatic shows but am pretty open. Am also open to off Broadway and am intrigued by the new Jonathan Larson show. Here is

I just got an email and it looks like Mandy Gonzalez is now playing normal Desmond for the whole week I’m in the city (week of April 15). For those who have seen her is it worth keeping the tickets or should I look at seeing something else. I’ve heard from a lot of people on these boards that Nicole is the real reason to see it.

Having seen HK and Gatsby I would say Hell’s Kitchen is the better of the two. Can’t speak to MHE or Gypsy

For those who have been I was wondering what would be a better seat. Front row of balcony or row E orchestra on the right partial view? Aviewfrommyseat says partial view missed some stuff at the back of the stage. Balcony just seems really far away based on pictures I’ve seen. Other options are last 2 rows of orchestra in right or 3rd row of mezz on left. With the seatgeek discount these are the only ones I can afford. The Canadian dollar exchange is killing my theatre options!
