Announced/Teased:
Boop! The Musical
Buena Vista Social Club
Death Becomes Her
Maybe Happy Ending
Operation Mincemeat
The current tour of Les Miserables is expected to close this summer in Boston to make way for the Arena production to launch in the US. Out of the aforementioned titles there’s really only one relatively known name to audiences, Death Becomes Her. With that being said, touring presenters will be eager for an additional title with a well known IP. I suspect Cam Mac and Disney may remount a touring production of Mary Poppins in the states next season. I can’t really think of well known IPs that will be ready to tour in time for next season. The UK tour of the show closes in early 2026, which gives them time to pack up the production and ship to the US for a fall opening in Providence or Baltimore.
I've heard A Beautiful Noise is going non-equity for its third year.
Yeah, of the cohorts of ABN, the Some Like It Hot and Shucked tours also close after the current season. I’m not sure if either has plans of launching a non-equity production. & Juliet I’m pretty sure has another year in it. Back to the Future, MJ, Moulin Rouge, and Six are also expected to wrap up this season.
I wonder if some kind of cabaret tour will launch in the wake of the closing. If they'll do some necromancy and pull the Sam Mendes production out of the grave and attempt to get more of their money back with a cheap attempt of a touring production of a 30 year old production of a show. If not that's fine, I do wonder about the revivals of shows that'll launch tours in the coming year, like the non eq music man revival and whatnot.
Seems like there’s a ton of non eq tours coming to our city next spring. I’d imagine Notebook goes non-eq if they could tour it with the rain for cheap.
