Avenue Q Puppets Getting Married.....um...

Jul 27, 2011 — 1:06:10 PM

Honestly, people need to lighten up! If we keep perceiving the gay marriage issue as "us vs. them", the progress will be much slower. Taking it too seriously only encourages the homophobes to get riled up about it.

Totally agree in terms of the videos, and the classiness!

Annoyances with tony telecast.

Jun 13, 2011 — 12:52:04 PM

MUCH improved in terms of sound from previous years, as previously mentioned. My only "annoyance" was the iffy mic situation for Sister Act

Kudos to Neil Patrick Harris!

Jun 13, 2011 — 12:50:00 PM

He definitely set the right tone for the show, considering the success of BOM. And he seemed to have more charisma this year, maybe the other host jobs have given him more confidence?

Undeserved Standing Ovations?

Jun 11, 2011 — 2:05:03 AM

I think it's become somewhat customary to give a standing ovation regardless of the performance. It sorta feels awkward w/o one, I noticed that with a lack of standing O at WSS in DC pre-Broadway.

What was wrong with the RENT movie?

May 28, 2011 — 6:40:39 PM

I think the movie comes across much worse if you've seen the show on stage. Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine, and I didn't notice anything to criticize until I saw the show's original intention when performed live. That being said, I think the movie definitely sparked an interest in Broadway for many people my age.

Sondheim's Best Musical??

Apr 13, 2011 — 3:25:05 PM

I agree with the overwhelming Sweeney support, but I think Into the Woods is very underrated!
