Posted: 7/24/11 at 5:21pmI like it a lot, too. It loads faster, for one thing. And the aesthetics are much better. I wish the message area (center column) was bit wider, but that's it.

Posted: 7/24/11 at 5:23pmI'm also IN LOVE with how the videos on the upper right-hand corner now scroll with an option to go back. Many times in the old design I wouldn't get to click on a video in time and it would scroll away, causing me to have to go and try to find it (which I was not always successful in doing). Kudos!

Thanks, I've got a few hours and a lots of little bits to go, but we're looking to have the pages loading nearly twice as fast along with the visual updates, and the easier ability to add some new features over the coming weeks... I like it, but the entire right side doesn't align properly. (I'm using Firefox 3.6 on a Mac.)

Yeah, that was annoying! I don't know why they changed it. You used to be able to scroll back before, but for whatever reason they dropped that option a year or so ago. Glad to see it back.

I like the new video feature also. I hated having to wait for a video that caught my eye but I couldn't click on fast enough to come back!

People keep talking about the video ads BWW has, but I have never seen a single one, and I am on this site multiple times every day (as I'm sure most of us are). I use both Firefox with adblock and Google Chrome, not one video, ever. I also never go directly to the main page of BWW, always to the board. If I need to go to the main page I click the icon in the upper left.
Now that I have said this I will probably be bombarded with them, but oh well.

And the BWW TV video scroller. . . . I will miss having to await that oneeee video to pass back through.

Posted: 7/24/11 at 10:19pmThe videos load with sound on? Wow! Most video ads on other sites at least have the courtesy to not have sound on when they load, but give the option to turn the sound on. The only exception I've seen are the ads shown before videos.

Thx for the kudos here and in my happily overflowing PM and inbox. These enhancements are just the first wave of a slew of summer upgrades. We were going to roll them all out at once, but just loved the visual and speed improvements so decided to push these out right away.
Auto sound video ads are definitely against our policies. If any creep through it's usually something gone wrong on one of the third party ad networks that we use for excess inventory. They are usually prettynfast about removing them when we yell, so if you catch anything ever before I do, please don't hesitate to PM or email me.

Love the curvature of the earth pic at the top, so scientific.
The site is loading faster than the NY Times!
Still have some pages with the one inch blank margins to the sides but the main message board page is fixed.

I wish the text part of the forum was wider. Half the space of the screen is taken up by ads/site links on either side of the forum. The text is this tiny column right in the middle.
