Anybody hearing anything about this Jack O'Brien-helmed production, which is scheduled to begin previews at the Newhouse on 2/13/25? Given that that's only two months away, I'm surprised there's been no on-sale date or casting announced.

Completely forgot about this! And even odder that it starts a month before Floyd Collins and they haven't even alerted members to a ticket on-sale date when the one for Collins was last week

Has the cast even been announced? The LCT website doesn’t say. Very strange.
My favorite Ibsen and just one of my all-time favorite plays - I can’t wait to see who they cast.

I didn't even know this was happening. Please let it be Cynthia Nixon!
This will be the first Broadway revival of Ghosts since 1982, which is insane.
I don’t think anything can ever top (for me) Lesley Manville’s production at BAM a couple years ago but I have faith LCT can do something great. Cynthia Nixon would be really interesting. For some reason, Laura Linney keeps popping in my head as someone I’d love to see do this.

This production is off-Broadway. The Lesley Manville production was indeed fantastic.
Leslie Melville was hypnotic in the BAM revival. Even though I was way back at the theatre I was mesmerized by her performance. Billy Howle gave also a stunning performance as her son. I really love that production.

I saw Liv and Kevin in 1982. Didn’t love it, but was mesmerized by the actors.
I thought that this was going to be the cast of the Abbey Theater production of Mark O'Rowe's adaptation. I would actually love to see Cathy Belton as Mrs. Alving... but Deirdre O'Connell or Elizabeth Marvel would be okay too. Maybe even Ruthie Ann Miles? But from LTC's recent castings, it will probably be a starry-star-star with a lucrative B.O. smell.

This is now really bizarre. According to the LCT website, first preview is seven weeks from today (2/13), but no onsale information or casting has been announced. I called the member hotline and they couldn't provide any info. Is it reasonable to assume at this point that this production isn't happening, or at least isn't happening on schedule? I'm still holding a slot for it in my February trip but don't want to wait too long to fill it with something else.

I have only seen Ghosts twice, both in the 80's. First was with Liv Ullmann in a NSG production. Still I enjoyed it. I also saw Vanessa Redgrave during Christmas week 1986 in London, and she was absolutely incredible in the role of Mrs. Alving. My wife remembers it more because she sat next to Rod Steiger, who gave one of her all-time favorite performances in In the Heat of the Night, and right behind Timothy Dalton, who was with Redgrave at the time. A great night at the theatre and a memory of Redgrave's appreciation of the audience reaction during the curtain call.

The first rehearsal is January 9th. It would make sense that they would have put tickets on sale already, and at least announced the principal cast. Surely people have been hired and designs have been submitted to shops? At least that's how it usually works.
The principal cast of The Blood Quilt was announced 7 weeks before the first preview, and member tickets went on sale 6 weeks before.

I saw the production in London at Trafalgar from the first row which basically put me on stage. What an absolutely brilliant and devastating show - especially from that close. It has stayed with me all these years later.
I don't know that either are Box Office, and both may be a little old for the role, but Frances McDormand or Annette Bening would be interesting choices.
^In a space like the Newhouse, I have no doubt that either of those actors would create lot of demand for tickets. Would love to see McDormand return to the stage in this or anything!
I'll echo other statememts that GHOSTS at Tralfager with Lesley was excellent and continues to stay with me.

Cast finally announced, and it’s an intriguing one. Member on-sale 1/14, public on-sale 1/17 - less than four weeks before the first preview. This all still feels a bit odd. Any reaction to the cast?

Well, we’re getting Annette’s daughter as Regina!

Crudup, Linklater, and Rabe are likely enough to make this worth seeing, but I seem to recall the reactions to Beatty when she replaced in Inappropriate were...not positive. Anyone see her in that and have positive impressions/

With those names and talent, I can’t figure out what this is at the Newhouse and not the Beaumont. Obviously, Floyd Collins has he Beaumont this spring but still.

Beatty was definitely the weakest link in Appropriate, which made the scene where Corey Stoll exploded at her character quite satisfying

The entire run is nearly sold out. There will be no discounts for this.
More tickets will become available as the run begins. Lincoln Centers tends to hold back lots of seats in the Newhouse for subscriber exchanges. These often get released day-of or close to performance times, often ending up on TKTS. And if a show gets poor reviews, tickets generally become pretty easy to come by.
