re: Predictions for Rosie

Aug 18, 2005 — 7:31:56 AM

I don't dislike Rosie. But I think she'll be pretty lousy. Acting isn't her thing. And her singing voice is more painful than Harvey's if such a thing is possible. But it will hardly be the end of the world as some posters on ATC will make it out to be. She wants to do it? Why not, if it sells a few more tickets. Critics will be indulgent because nobody much cares about FIDDLER since it's closing in a few months.

Hairspray Review 8/9/2005

"And so goes the market: t'was thus and t'will ever be." Congrats, kid. You've managed to sound even MORE pretentious than Michael John LaChiusa.

Let's talk about the REAL important issue here - Sara has bigger boobs that Christina and Idina COMBINED!

What's the line between "Enthusiastic fan" and "Stalker"?

Jun 15, 2005 — 8:15:48 AM

Serious question - I'm curious to see what people think is inappropriate or dicey fan behaviour towards Broadway stars. When does fan enthusiasm cross the line? What are the warning signs that you MIGHT be a stalker - (sometimes without being aware of it)?

re: Broadway Bares...do the guys take EVERYTHING off?

Jun 13, 2005 — 5:19:19 AM

"By the way, this post has proven that full-frontal male nudity is allowed in theatre, so why not in Broadway Bares?" It's to protect Broadway stars that have ...shortcomings. There are some bodily qualities that cannot be obtained at the gym. And the steam room doesn't count.

re: Victoria Clark's Tony Mishap

Jun 11, 2005 — 7:01:44 AM

Kelli's comment about "you're the narrator" was VERY sharp and supportive, making it somewhat bizzaro sense for Clark to hold the mike while intoducing the story. I don't see how anybody could fault Clark at all. She handled the body mike gaffe with aplomb.

re: Mixed feelings about The Music Man

Jun 11, 2005 — 6:51:46 AM

I never warmed to THE MUSIC MAN. Yes, there are some lovely tunes in it, but it has a retrograde aspect to it that gets on my nerves. It's the epitome of an inoffensively wholesome musical with the gingham-trimmed Americana laid on with a sledgehammer. I kept hoping that the musical would have ended with Harold Hill escaping into the night with all the money for the band costumes. But I love HELLO, DOLLY. It's got so much more pizzaz.
